Outside of a handful of Midwest states, Meijers doesn't exist. I do shop there when we're home in Columbus, but in Florida there's really no equivalent.
Wholefoods is a great store with a tremendous selection of locally sourced products/produce. But, they are really pricey. Meijer's had a great selection, but is reasonably priced.
...forgot dog food bookmark.
I have been buying from Meijer on-line for known products. I avoid Walmart as much as possible. Obviously we aren’t 100% sure on everything but we do not buy preprocessed packaged food items and if it isn’t marked for country of origin then we do without. The flour I buy to make our bread comes the USA. Did you know that marinated artichoke hearts come from Peru - Yikes (at least the ones offered in all stores here)
Bush’s fault?
I’m with you. I bought some cooking spray and after I got it home happened to look at the label - China. It would never have occurred to me that cooking spray would come from China! So now I check everything that’s an off-brand.
Joining the WTO and the IMF was no mistake when our country was economically dominant and could use these agencies to strong arm weaker economies into complying with U.S commercial interests.
Unfortunately, there are now several economies(EU, China, Japan...etc) of comparable scale, and they want to use these agencies to further their own interests.
“of comparable scale, and they want to use these agencies to further their own interests.”
Which is what leaders of countries are supposed to do.
Passed with CAFTA under Bush.
I imagine McD’s and BK are very happy over ths decision.
The day when 250,000 American children are poisoned by Chineese Apple Juice (Which is like almost all of our AJ nowadays) is the day that maybe we all wake up.
