Some judge will void that order. Better to fire ‘em!

The minimum wage is going up on July 1st.
To: BenLurkin
Why wait until July 1? Just drop the wage until the budget is balanced. Then return the workers to a real market rate, based on current conditions. It should be recognized that wages are like real estate vlaues; what was true years ago is not true today.

Private sector workers face no-wage.
To: BenLurkin
State workers have been watching that story closely because if lawmakers don't get a budget passed by July 1, the Schwarzenegger administration is threatening to drop state employees to the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour until a budget is passed First pushing then comes shoving...
A decent income isn't a God given right, it needs to be earned and if the money isn't there to give due to mismanagement (government), then one needs to go elsewhere to "earn" a living.
There is way too much "it's government so we can't allow it to fail" going on!
We are the government and we the public are going broke trying to keep it afloat!

Private sector workers face no-wage. And in most cases "no retirement pension".
This off the scale government worker protection at any cost to the taxpayer has got to end.

The minimum wage is going up on July 1st. For many it pays more just to stay on unemployment or assistance.

For most of them it will be the first time they’ve ever been paid what they are truly worth. Some, however, will still be overpaid at $7.25/hour.

$7.25/hr. is TOO MUCH for doing NOTHING.

They can’t be fired. It’s like the stain that the “Cat in the Hat” just couldn’t get rid of.
To: BenLurkin
A lot of federal workers need to face minimum wage or layoffs.

Again? I had to let go some employees last year, when the increase made them unaffordable.

The situation in Cali is hopeless unless we get rid of public employee unions. The chances of that happening are nil.
