Maybe he couldn't carry the baby and his golf clubs at the same time?
I don’t buy it either. Maybe 1 in 100,000 might be accidental, but it is the rare, rare exception.
When I was just married I baby-sat for another couple in our apartment complex. When the baby was about 4 months old, Mom left her in the car while she went into her boyfriend’s (not hubby) house for a quickie ... this was in Arizona, in summer. That sweet little baby was dead in less than 15 minutes. It can happen that quick, so dang yes, I’d bust the windows out too! Good for Tom Hruska!
(and yep, I can totally see him getting sued for the window)
Ahh, someone with rational thought. That is refreshing. I agree with you.
No, he should not go to jail. Your response has me guessing if you are male or female.
I don’t care what the excuse was or how sleep-deprived someone is. I never forgot one of my kids in the back of a car. And Rio is not a place you go for an emergency. It’s a place of restaurants, upscale little shops, and other pleasures. If the father was awake enough to go to Rio he was awake enough to remember he’s a father.
He’ll probably be charged. The MoCo Popo are very serious about child abuse.
Or a pet IMO.
I had a guy get up in my face for leaving my dog in the truck when I when into a supermarket. It was winter and the temperature was in the 30’s. When said he could die from lack of oxygen I just started laughing and proceeded to get in my pickup. Then he made the mistake of calling me every name in the book. Im not sure how long it took him to regain consciousness. I left him laying flat on his back in the middle of the parking lot. I was sure that somebody got my tag numbers and waited for the rest of the day for the cops to pull up in front of my house but fortunately they never did.
If you have never forgotten a child, you are in the minority.
Myself I have five children. I forgot that I was in custody of two, once each.
If you, nor your siblings, nor your children, have never been forgotten anywhere, what can I say? You are rare.
I assume virtually every poster here on FR was left somewhere in one way or another. Myself I was left in a bookstore as a child, once.
People are not machines, and the care of a helpless person 24/7 is an insanely demanding job. Few do it perfectly. Thankfully, most of us get a pass, thank God.
“At this time, the baby’s father has not been charged, but authorities are still investigating. “
And that is why we will have more of these incidences. The perps are not being held accountable. And why was this baby sent home? End times.
I got in trouble today at a Whole Foods grocery store. I know.. but it was convenient. The people in front of me were telling the check out person about their wonderful trip to the middle east and all the wonderful muslim people they met and how they weren’t at all like they are portrayed on TV. I said, “Too bad they keep blowing people up.” Well then I told that these “good” muslims don’t even consider those bad people to be muslims. I told them that they then needed to speak up and loudly but they don’t. She then started in on bombings at abortion clinics by “so called Christians.” I said maybe one bombing and she jumped in with the moral equivalency argument and I finished with blowing up innocent women and children was not morally equivalent to one bomb at an abortion clinic at which point her husband made her leave. Dangerous people. But sort of fun to have that argument at Whole Paycheck.
My parents have six kids, never once forgot one of us. My sister has five boys, eight and under, she’s never forgotten one. I have three kids, never forgotten one. My husband works six days a week, three am to nine pm. He has never forgotten one of our children.
It’s not a matter of machines, it’s a matter of priorities.
I agree it is the priorities. And I doubt this dad will ever let this happen again.
This happens enough that people are calling the summer “baby baking season”
I have never understood why parents take their children out for no reason. If they can’t organize childcare for infants and toddlers, they shouldn’t have children.
that’s why people shold be very selective about having children.
Yes he should go to jail. He left his baby in a hot car and did what? See a movie?
After birth abortion?
Neither do I. If you have a baby, if it is in your custody, it’s the highest priority and the most important thing in your life (or should be). Leaving it in a car, hot day or no, is nothing but criminal negligence. Some people shouldn’t even be allowed to have children.
