Dang there is that clean hand again!
Agreed. I haven’t seen you on RF at all. I have no idea why you were pinged to this thread.
Thanks for stopping by, though...
Don’t bother feeding the troll.

Give us Clean Hands - Chris Tomlin
We bow our hearts
We bend our knees
Oh Spirit come make us humble
We turn our eyes
From evil things
Oh Lord we cast down our idols
So give us clean hands
and give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Oh give us clean hands
and give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Oh God let this be
a generation that seeks
Who seeks Your face, Oh God of Jacob
Oh God let us be
a generation that seeks
Who seeks Your face, Oh God of Jacob
We bow our hearts
We bend our knees
Oh Spirit come make us humble
We turn our eyes
From evil things
Oh Lord we cast down our idols
So give us clean hands
and give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Give us clean hands—Oh God
and give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Oh God let us be
a generation that seeks
Who seeks Your face, Oh God of Jacob
Oh God let us be
a generation that seeks
Who seeks Your face, Oh God of Jacob
Oh God of Jacob
(Give us clean hands)
So give us clean hands
and give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Give us clean hands—Oh God
and give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Oh God let us be
a generation that seeks
Who seeks Your face, Oh God of Jacob
Oh God let us be
a generation that seeks
Who seeks Your face, Oh God of Jacob
Oh God of Jacob
Oh God of Jacob
Give us clean hands
and give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Give us clean hands—Oh God
and give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Oh God let us be
a generation that seeks
Who seeks Your face, Oh God of Jacob
Oh God let us be
a generation that seeks
Who seeks Your face, Oh God of Jacob
Oh God of Jacob
Sorry, my mistake :( I'll excommunicate you too : )
I think he is referring to my posting on the FLDS events out in Eldorado Texas. To that extent I posted on threads that involved religion but my interest wasn’t the religion other than to the extent it conflicted with Texas law. I supported Texas law enforcement very strongly and condemned the actions of FLDS. Otherwise religion isn’t my interest here on FR.
Ahhh, ok.

Proverbs 24:28
Calling me a liar won’t change the facts that you were insensitive.
I wonder if that verse was translated correctly.
I was thinking the same thing.
If it supports Mormon doctrine then it MUST have been translated correctly, the verses that support Christian doctrine (like Romans) is what is NOT translated correctly!
LOL.
You can’t assume that the church doesn’t teach that men and women should avoid being alone with the opposite sex. Yes, they are Latter Day Saints (which is, and always has been the correct name, not “Mormon”), and yes, they ended up alone, however, just because a church teaches something, doesn’t mean they will always follow what the church teaches. This is no fault of the church; the blame is only on the individuals who made the mistake.
Also, Latter-Day Saints ARE Christians; they use the English translation of the King James Bible, which is the first and most accurate version. Here’s proof: http://scriptures.lds.org/en/1_thes/5/22#22
Before you go and tell people who you think the Latter Day Saints are, you need to get your facts straight.
Anyone who claims that they are “exmormon” automatically gives up their credibility on LDS church-related subjects. The reason is, when someone stops going to church, they forget a lot. The things that are forgotten are subconsciously filled in with negative thoughts, as they speak negatively of the church.
You may or may not be slandering the LDS church intentionally, but to set the facts straight, no one is coerced to do anything. If a member prefers not to meet with a particular home teacher, all they need is to ask for a new one, which is something that this victim simply neglected to do.
The LDS church has nothing to do with this case. Yes, both the suspect and victim are both members, but the church teaches against what Hallam did in every way. Just because a church teaches something doesn’t mean each and every member will always abide by it, and this is true for any church, not just The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Please don’t claim that you are “exmormon” and then tell us that you are very much aware of how the church operates. When you do this, you are contradicting yourself. Those who are most aware are the current and active members. You may have just recently been ex-communicated (I assume you were, otherwise, you wouldn’t claim yourself as an “exmormon”, but rather “inactive” or “less-active.”) or you may have been ex-communicated years ago, but either way, you will forget a lot. I speak from experience. I went inactive for some time, and forgot a lot. When I came back, I realized that none of the doctrine changed, just my way of thinking did. All of the books that I had that were collecting dust in my closet while I was inactive still had all the same doctrine that they are teaching today.
My point is, the LDS church is perfectly civil and ethical. The church has nothing to do with this case; it’s Hallam that made the mistake.
