“A few years back a man was arrested for killing a rat in NYC, I think, with a ballbat.”
Gee, if this were legalized, Schmuck Schumer would need tons of body guards.

Here in Alaska, it's also the vets filing charges against anybody who does anything to lower prices: People who hold low price shot, spay clinics, people in rural areas (no vets) who have certs to assist in dog care, and especially any other vet who does work at reduced prices in rural areas. We just had a rural vet who travels the rural circuit get attacked by other vets from Fairbanks; something about prescriptions for dogs being given out to locals to administer. The rural vet was a good guy providing a service no urban vet would do. The urban vets want rural dog owners to spend a thousand bucks on sending a dog to them; plane flights, kenneling, ect. Of course, people can't afford this;;;; they now just shoot the dogs.
I remember a few years back, Linda Plettner (iditarod musher) made the papers. She had taken 6 dogs from an owner, trying to make them into sled dogs for local kids dogteams. These dogs were vicious and couldn't be trusted with kids. Linda took them to Humane society to have them killed. HSA went right to the papers trying to make Plettner look bad. Reason was Linda had sponsored a cheap rabies clinic and the vets hated her; were friends with Humane Society. She should have just them herself. Crooked Vets.

Naw. Chuckie the Rat is beloved in the liberal bastion of NYC. It’s parts of the rest of the state where he’s not popular.

The problem here is that other government meddling really does make this cruel. Obviously the man’s intentions were excellent, and if he could freely purchase local anesthetic like novocaine for the surgery, and antibiotics to prevent infection afterwards, most likely the dog would have been just fine.

Our cat brought back a half dead mouse but wouldn’t finish it off. I didn’t want to see the mouse suffer any more so I decided to put him out of his misery with a sledge hammer but I didn’t want to risk a glancing blow and only cause more suffering, so I laid a board over him and hit the board with the sledgehammer as hard as I could. He never saw it coming. It was instantaneous. All that was left was a stain.

That would get you arrested in a liberal city.

The tip-off? When he said, “If you want me, I’ll be in my Lab.”
