well they sure do love me! Thru clothes even when I use bug sprays..I’ve tried it all..even Avon’s oil everyone says works so well. BUT what I did discover was if I’m on a deck or partio and I put a fan on they can’t fly in the wind from it! Safe!

On this page http://www.thegoodscentscompany.com/data/rw1000291.html you can read a lot about the substance.

During the winter it would be OK to use any perfume, but when you purchase new to be used in the summer, it would be the right thing to do to check if it contains the substance that is known under any of these names: aldehyde C-9, 1-nonaldehyde, nonanoic aldehyde, nonoic aldehyde, nonyl aldehyde, nonylic aldehyde, pelargonaldehyde and pelargonic aldehyde.

What perfume manufacturer will be the first to state that they are not using this substance in their products?

I have read that north wood Indian guides stop eating sugar about 6 weeks before bug season. Could be they become less sweet and attractive. I have cut my sugar eating back a lot and also take Vitamin C 3 or 4 times a day, and mosquito bites rarely ever bother me although I still get them from time to time. Used to suffer terribly at the beach, New Jersey and Virginia.

Do you smoke?

Tobacco is a natural insect repellent.

Also, people with a natural ruddy complexion will attract more blood suckers. The closer your blood is to the surface of your skin, the easier it is for a bug to smell your blood.

What I really want to do is see if you can actually make skeeters explode if you have enough Tabasco.

If you don't explode first.

And they found it - nonanal, a substance made by humans and birds that creates a powerful scent that Culex mosquitoes find irresistible.

In biological evolution, there are always trade-offs. Attracting mosquitoes is the downside of nonanal. But if it repels Barney Frank, it is a worthy exchange.

I went approximately 18 years without eating sugar and I don’t think I was ever bitten by a mosquito in that entire time.
