Sure - my earlier post was in response to a post suggesting that this was none of our business, and I pointed out that this is potentially (if you beleive the earlier police report that charges were pending) a criminal matter and therefore, by definition, public, and the public’s business.
Then you responded that “The state has to prove a crime has been committed. You dont have to help them,” which is true, but not at all responsive to what I wrote - the point that criminal matters are public, not private.
You may as well have posted that today is Sunday. You point is valid, but doesn’t speak to the point I made at all.

When they come out and say criminal charges are pending and criminal charges are actually filed, then it becomes public business. Otherwise, it is not.
Where is the criminal matter here? Even if charges are filed in a case such as this, it won’t be by the two actually involved. Count on it.

Tiger has no political power to affect our lives. A lot of people don't have political power. In fact, only 535 people in this nation have Federal legislative political power. It does not mean that anything else happening in the news department is not "news" if you say it isn't.

I heard about the "Stupid Driver Law."
It sounds like an SNL skit.

There could be charges for assault or mayhem, for example. And they did say charges were pending. So wait and see.

Where did they break the law here? Unless Tiger wants to press charges on his wife, what did they do but have an argument and an accident? Did you read post #1 before you engaged keyboard?

Well, shouldn’t their lawyer being talking with the authorities to know what happened????

Personally I think she hit him a glancing blow after he exited the car, she smashed the rear window(original reports said he backed out of the driveway but it is a circular driveway and he was driving forward)as he was trying to get away, distracting him and causing him to crash. She then whacked him as he got out of the car. That would explain the cops saying he was in and out of consciousness when the arrived on the scene. She, and Tiger, better feel lucky she didn't connect with a solid blow, many a husband has been done in on the golf course while teaching their wives to play golf and subsequently being hit with a 4 iron(or whatever). I agree. The story that she "rescued and pulled him from the vehicle after smashing the rear window with a golf clube while he lay bleeing and unconsious" sounded like a made for TV movie titled "Elin Nordegren meets Private Jessica Lynch."

In Florida, is the law that the police have to press domestic assault charges, even if the spouse does not want them pursued. That is what all the delay is about. You're right, the law in Florida is the state vs the violent offender - not the spouse. They might be sweating this one out...

All of this still does not make our business to speculate. I find it odd that people feel the need to involve themselves in the life of private citizens. There was no death here. It really is not a criminal case.
We have things far worse to deal with than the private life of a golfer with a wife and two cute little kids.
Frankly, I hope they work it out. I am not a wealthy person, but I do not envy them, nor do I revel in any pain in their lives.
I wish I had their bucks, but then, I suck at golf.
Oh well, life goes on.

Hasnt anyone around here ever watched Cops? A partner can beat the other one up, no charges are pressed because the other one says Nope, he/she pays mah bills. You need to watch "COPS" less and read more.
Florida Law allows a police officer to make an arrest for domestic violence if there are any visible signs of abuse that can be substantiated by other evidence. These visible signs can include something as insignificant as a scratch, bite, or red mark. Since most Domestic Violence assault or battery cases arise outside of the presence of a law enforcement officer, arriving officers must rely on recollections of the person who called 911 to describe how the "crime" took place. The "victim" has a safe haven to make up accusations of violence. The current system allows individuals to inappropriately utilize the police power of the State to settle "in-house" disagreements, gain a strategic advantage in a custody battle, or delay the expiration of an immigration Visa. When the police arrive on scene in reference to a domestic violence call, policy dictates that they make an arrest regardless of the "victim's" desires and even though both parties deny that any domestic violence took place. When making an arrest, the police do not consider the "victim's" motives which could include spite, jealousy, or ill-will. Moreover, the police often do not investigate whether the "victim" was the first aggressor.

this is the world's richest athlete, who has earned $100 playing golf, but has also earned an estimated $1 Billion from endorsements and business deals. Anybody who can parlay a C-note into a Billion is OK in my book, but I think your estimate is a bit low...

You bet. Watch though, his fame and money will get him "Speshul" treatment. Any day now, some flunkie from Florida will hold a press conference telling the gathered media throng that they
"Don't intend to press charges against Mister or Misses Woods now, or in the future, and we consider this case closed." I bet you a Diet Coke that is what happens.

Oh, come on! What does the Masters Tourney pay the winner? Ten bucks, and a green jacket, right?
Anway, earning 100 Million from winners fees, and 1 Billion from endorsements is a good living. I guess he has no trouble making his car payments.

You need to face reality more. What you say may be true, but the law does not support it as it stands.
Anyway, what does that have to do with the media fenzy over Tiger Woods.
How will this improve your life?

Nope, I will not. I still do not believe that me, you, or the MSM BS on this is any of our business unless charges are pressed.
Nothing personal against a fellow conservative. Just a difference of opinion.
