As a diehard Packer fan it’s tough to watch Brett eat the league up, similiar to the mid 90s. I have to say the old man still has it. Because he is now the current QB for the Vikings, I don’t like him just as I didn’t like the other QBs the Vikings have used since I’ve been following the NFL. Once he retires again, I’ll probably go back to liking to watch his highlights and remembering the good times he brought to me as a Packer fan. I just wish he’d give some of the bad times he caused (like the NY Giants playoff interception) to the Vikings ;)
Of the 10 WR’s and TE’s on the Giants roster, their combined experience is 23 years. 2.3 years per receiver ain't much. Three rookies and no one with more than 4 years in the NFL.
The reason the Giants have gone flat is obvious. No Steve Spagnuolo to coach the defense.
BTW - the Jets were 8-3 with Favre at the helm and completely crashed. Look for history to repeat itself.
Favre had a very good first-half of the season with the Jets last year. Doesn’t that give any of these analysts any pause?
I have seen some of his play this year. Seems to me the Vikings aren’t asking a whole lot from him.
“Comeback Player of the Year” I can see. I’ll reserve judgement on MVP, however.
They better give it to him or he’ll turn into a blubbering idiot.
I can’t stand the giants, so you can blame whoever you want. As long as they keep losing; I’m happy.
Farve is good .... but no MVP. Sounds like the writer is a groupie
Favre = ratings. Say his name, people are interested.
I was at Southern Miss when Favre was there. I have never seen anyone with such a strong arm. We were the only team to beat Florida State one year. Then again we lost to a terrible Tulane the same year.
If you knew anything about football, you wouldn't make such stupid remarks. Same goes for your politics.
Btw, you got a team?
That’s odd. On the Fox Sports site, Drew Brees was leading the fan voting by a wide margin yesterday. Peyton Manning was the writer’s choice.
Rodgers is a good QB. Sometimes his O-line is absolutely terrible, but he holds the ball to long for some of the sacks. I don’t know if it’s the offensive line, or that Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have the leadership or killer instinct but sometimes I think somethings missing from him. I hope it’s the O-line issues, because if he’s not a leader, I worry.
Except the Vikes have this thing unknown in Green Bay called an offensive line that make interceptions a little less common.
Packer fans have to face the cold, hard truth. The last 15 years were an aberration. Since his departure the team has found it's rightful and natural place in the NFL pecking order, where it will stay for the indefinite future.
Jeesh, I forgot to reply to the 8-3 Jets part.
I don’t know if he’ll repeat to that level of crappiness. He was injured and didn’t have Adrian Peterson to hand-off to. I think he’ll falter, but not to the degree he did last season. Go Pack Go.
As a Bengals fan, I gotta mention Carson Palmer who seems to be healthy for the first time since 2005 including missing 12 games in 2008 and almost all of 2009 pre-season. Lots of final minute winning drives and getting his touch back.
Or until Favre re-re-retires. Do you really think Sage Rosenfels or TJax can lead the Vikes like Favre has? I think he was the missing ingredient to a team that always had talent, just not at the QB spot. I think he’ll falter a bit near the end of the season, hopefully for the Vikings, he won’t during the playoffs.
About that pecking order, how many Lombardi trophies do the Vikes have ;)
4 losses in a row. Don’t get much better than that.
That is a funny shirt. I want to buy one.
