If you can afford it, these guys are building custom Shelby Cobras (and other roadsters).
Kirkham Motorsports
BTW, the owner is a Tea Partier. Organized the first Utah Tea Party at the state capitol and has organized others since.

Wish I could. There are really quite a few builders out there putting clones together (even Shelby is or was producing late models - he had titles of about 50 or so 1966 models left over, so could get around the emission regs.) One of Shelby’s former employees was building some, with a slight improvement in weight distribution (moved the engine, firewall and all back about ten inches) and Shelby built two monsters (427 w/Paxton blower & auto trans.), one for himself and the other for Bill Cosby, who told all about it on the “200 MPH” album. Can’t afford even a clone, now, but still like to drool over them. IIRC, Cosby’s was destroyed, and Shelby’s sold recently at auction for I think $550,000. 800 HP. Just damn.

I was wrong on that price. It went for $5.5 MILLION. See now why I can’t afford to even look very hard?

Had one of those in that color. Wish I still did.

The good old AMC Gremlin. My father had a yellow one with a black Gremlin logo behind the back side window. I learned how to drive a stick shift in it when I was 12 years old.

LOL - me too! But don’t recall if mine had the same contours as this beauty.
