I grew up during the golden age of American automobiles. The 50’s and 60’s. Goodness I loved those cars.
I remember my old 55 Ford with 272 would run like crazy and I could change the water pump in less than half an hour. I recently changed the one on my 302 and it took me two weeks and I had to take everything off the front of the engine. The newer ones are probably even worse.
The best car I ever had was a 65 Olds with 425 370HP engine. It went through my Father, my Brother, and finally me. I sold it with over 200,000 miles on it and it still ran like a bat out of hell. Never used oil and would cruise the interstate like it was idling.
