Actually, Cink took a bogie on 18 and is -4, still a fine day though. Weir off quickly -3 through 7.
Somehow when the weather turns to crap later and tomorrow Tiger will find a way to shoot around par and the field comes back to him. We shall see.
Matt Goggin joins the 66 bunch....
YEah, Tiger missed a golden opportunity this morning. Unlike the US Open, he got the right side of the draw today and a 71 is not going to cut it. Tiger was real wild off the tee today, in total contrast to the control he showed at The Memorial and ATT.
Yeah he was spraying balls all over the place, except the fairway. On 7, you could clearly hear him drop an expletive when the tee shot went way left.
Come on T. You’re better than that.
Almost three hours later, and Watson still has the lead. Hopefully he’ll be in contention on the final day like the 58-year old Nicklaus was at the ‘98 Masters (finishing 6th, four shots back). A Watson victory would be one of the greatest sporting achievements in history.
The old Tiger temper was in full force today — smashing his clubs against the ground, cursing like crazy, and even refusing to give a post-round interview on TNT. Childish and weak.
I'm asking you to prove it too........you brought it up now back it up.
But you can't.......so what does that say about you?
Haven’t heard any idiotic screams today from the crowd of “In the HOLE!!” while players tee off on par 5s. Knowledgeable fans. Always a pleasure to watch this tournament.
Nice try dumbass, that was a tribute speech to the military given by Woods at the last presidential inauguration. Not one word about Obama.......
Now take your crap somewhere else and leave this golf thread alone......
That’s for sure. Not to say they don’t like to have a few pints while watching the action, but they know how to handle themselves.
Then we have the story of one Sir Nick Faldo. He even has the Sir stiched on his bag!!! You know Zinger wanted to bust a wise crack, but he just had to bite his lip....All in good fun though. Nick’s one cool dude. Personally, I wish he plays a little more these days.
Thanks for backing me up, my FRiend!!!
Just cause sometimes Tiger acts like a little immature kid does not at all take away the facts and his great game.
You notice how the little troll hasn’t resurfaced since my little missive?
Looks like low scoring is still there to be had. And with birdie on 17, Ben Curtis, Ohio’s own ties Watson at-5.
Watson now has some company at -5, including Curtis. Casey drops back to -3. Technicolor Daly at -2, and hit the hole earlier in a bid for double eagle. Hansen in the best position to have the lead after the first 18. Come on, wind!
Not anymore after that double!
Darn, Miguel Angel Jimenetthhhhhh has now overtaken Watson for the lead.
He is pro-Obama and spoke at Obama’s inauguration. I am also flagging your post as abuse.
Don’t hit the abuse button again on these threads, bad things will happen.
Hope Tiger will be pleased with his "friend" when said "friend" hits him with the wealth tax.
Hope Tiger does better tomorrow. He said, after his round today, that he was off to practice. The greats can always sort out any kinks in their play.
Well that should just about take care of things!!
THANKS!!
Nice to see Tom Watson in second. He is a real gentleman who does not give speeches for Obama’s inauguration, throw clubs, spit on the greens, diss kids looking for an autograph or reporters or employ a thug caddy who smears other players. Watson is a great champion and ambassador for golf.
Well I just happened to type in Turnberry into the Weather Channel’s webtsite....AND LOOKIE HERE!!!
Friday, 80% chance of rain through the day into the night with winds from the NNW at 19 MPH. HIgh 58/ Low 51.
Saturday, 60% chance of light rain increasing to 70% during the night. Winds NNW at 16 MPH. High 58/Low 51.
Sunday, 70% chance of steady rain. Wind NNW at 22 MPH. High 55.
Good luck field!!!!
Thanks for the weather update. Those conditions give Watson a good chance to contend all the way through to the end. One doesn’t win 5 Open Championships without being an expert at playing in the rain and wind. Those who only hit high shots will have big problems. Gotta hit ‘em low and run ‘em up there.
