we ALL note that once more you are "trying to change the subject" AWAY from YOUR DISHONESTY & REPUTATION as a KNOWING LIAR & south-HATING turncoat.

fwiw, you should just simply ADMIT that you KNOWINGLY lied for MONTHS about being a "staff-member" of the NO Confederate Museum & tell everyone on these threads that ====> "i'm SORRY for LYING to all of you & i will NOT do it again." then you should "sign it", "usmcobra". (then, you should RESIGN from the forum in disgrace - BUT we all know that you aren't man enough to do the CORRECT/honorable thing.)

laughing AT your PITIFUL attempt to "shift the blame" for YOUR DISHONESTY to anybody/somebody/everybody & to fail to take responsibility for YOUR LIES upon YOURSELF.

further, making STUPID, CLUMSY, false, "HALF-true/HALF-false", FOOLISH & UN-knowing accusations against other FReepers make you look both CHILDISH & MEAN-spirited. (it's a classic case of "you know NOT & know NOT that you know NOT".)

laughing AT you, TURNCOAT/LIAR/FOOL.

YES, the ATROCITIES & WAR CRIMES committed against help-LESS (mostly INNOCENT) civilian internees & CSA POWs at Camp Douglas, Elmira, Point Lookout and any number of other DAMNyankee concentration camps was just the SAME as what the NAZIs did at places like DACHAU.

ONLY the "scale" (i.e., the NUMBER of tortured/abused/starved/MURDERED victims) was different.

the RACISM, INTENT & HATRED directed against the "detainees" was the SAME. (it is NOT "coincidental" that MOST of the MURDERED POWs at Point Lookout were AmerIndian,Asian, Black, Catholic, Jewish, Latino or "the poorest of the poor whites".)

given the RACISM/hatefulness of the "lincoln MAL-administration", had the TECHNOLOGY existed to build gas chambers, the DAMNyankees would have used them. since there was no such "machines of mass death" in 1863-65, the DAMNyankees "had to make do" with shootings, bludgeonings, starvation, denial of medical attention, drowning, bayonetinging & several means of torture to abuse/kill as many of "Lee's miserables" as they wished.

As long as you fail to provide proof of what you say, I will continue to laugh at your feeble attempts at trying to extinguish my opinions.

Your very existence, is devoted to silencing me, please make a note of that, because it is how low you have sunk.....

YES, i despise you for BEING a TURNCOAT to the southland, as most real southerners DO.

otoh, that has NOTHING to do with your failure to ADMIT your INTENTIONAL LIES & PATENT DISHONESTY with/to EVERYONE on FR.

fwiw, you SHOULD simply ADMIT that you LIED to EVERYBODY, repeatedly for MONTHS & ask that they forgive you for being DISHONEST. NOTHING else but a SINCERE APOLOGY will improve your REPUTATION.

laughing AT you LYING nitwit.

You said: All you need do is produce some quotes for us where Southern leaders are advocating secession, but claiming it will NOT lead to war.

With regard to your challenge to Tex about quotes about secession that develop the fact that war was not a foregone conclusion.........

The best evidence in support of Tex's point is from the only people that could bring about war.

If you read the newspapers of the time, just after the first states seceded, you will see that through editorials and interviews that the “North” could not believe that all the secession activity was to be taken seriously..

It was thought that the matter would soon be settled in some way, and some prominent Northern men advised that the seceding States should be permitted to “go in peace.”

In his message to Congress in December of 1860, President Buchanan denied the right of any state to secede, but he also denied the right of the government to force any State to remain in the Union.

There had not been secession before, nor any law requiring war to follow, so your contention that Southern leaders knew full well... that war would follow is not only an invalid conclusion but a pejorative accusation.

And with regard to Lincoln, it was he who threatened the South with war in his first inaugural, six weekws later sent a secret naval mission to invade Charleston harbor, and a few days later declared war on the South via blockade.

And since you asked, Korea and Vietnam and Iraq and the Confederacy were all one-party states who's leaders ran unopposed in 'free' elections. There's one similarity right off the bat.

And since I am sure that you are familiar with the process used in 1789, then you would need to add George Washington and the United States to your list.

VERY true!!!

the DAMNyankees will grasp at ANY straw, no matter how WEAK/PITIFUL to TRY to "cover-up" the EXCESSES of "their sainted lincoln, the UNjust".

the TRUTH is that the war was REALLY about ONE main thing = that "DIShonest abe" was willing to KILL as many Americans as it required to keep the southern states IN the union & UNDER the boot-heel of the northern business elites.

lincoln's obsession with "preserving the union", at ANY blood price, reminds me of the RVN-era army COL who said that he "destroyed the village to save it".

to any DAMNyankees reading this: IF tomorrow you awakened to find yourself as POTUS, how many MILLION Americans would YOU be willing to kill to stop the COMING secession of the western states (that will one day be "Los Estados Unidos de Azatlan")???? = a MILLION, 10 MILLION, EVERYBODY in the USA???

I have a simple question for you stand, although I doubt you can answer it correctly.....

What is the single most important difference between the CSA and the USA?

This is not a trick question and the answer is just as simple as the question, in fact I can answer it in one sentence.

The real question is can you answer it trufully?

Strictly conjecture. There are scholars that argue both.

The "Southern" states that reatified [sic] were either pro-Union rump legislatures such as the Virginia Legislature (located in Alexandria) or provisional governments appointed by the President.

Are you daft or simply uneducated? Virginia “rump” legislature? From what, 1860? And ratified for both West Virginia and Virginia? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHahahahahaha!

As you can see, four of the Confederate states ratified even before the war ended and there were no 'former confederates' involved in those governments.

I vote for uneducated. The war ended in APRIL 1865, not December.

South Carolina held elections 18 Oct 1865 AD, placing native son James Orr into office. Orr had been a member of the Confederate Congress 18 Feb 1862 AD through 10 May 1865 AD. Regardless, The newly elected legislature ratified the 13th amendment.

In North Carolina, William Woods Holden had been appointed by President Johnson, but was defeated by NC State Senator Jonathan Worth on 9 Nov 1865 along with a new legislature. Worth was state Treasurer during the Confederacy. That legislature ratified the 13th amendment.

In Georgia, James Johnson had been appointed by President Johnson, but on 15 Nov 1865 AD Georgian Charles J. Jenkins was elected along with a new legislature. That Georgia legislature ratified the 13th amendment 6 Dec 1865 AD.

'The Vice-President of the Confederacy [Alexander Stephens], four Confederate generals, five Confederate colonels, six Confederate cabinet officers, and fifty-eight Confederate congressmen were elected to the Thirty-ninth Congress, which met in December 1865. At the state level former Confederate military and civilian officers dominated the governments. [4CJ note: the same governments that ratified the 13th; see John Hope Franklin, Reconstruction after the Civil War, p. 43] .

What is the single most important difference between the CSA and the USA?

The single biggest difference is that the North was made up of disgusting blood thirty animals hell bent on destroying a republic and the South was made up of God fearing freedom lovers that bravely stood up to the Federal monster against amazing odds. Does that answer the question. :)

Stand Watie: “I didn’t surrender, but they took my horse and made HIM surrender!”

(*sigh*) That wasn't Stand Watie. That was Chief Dan George in "Outlaw Josey Wales". You're confusing your historical sources again. </sarcasm>

True. But one of those who argue against unilateral secession is James Madison, so I feel that I'm on safe ground agreeing with him. The Supreme Court has ruled that unilateral secession is unconstitutional but the Texas v. White decision is almost as controversial among Southern supporters.

Funny, I believe Swazy was supposed to be in the Confed. Army as a Lt. Why then does his uniform have shoulder boards? Only Yank uniforms had those for the most part. Needs research. Looks fake.

It was Dan George, but I made a mistake. His character in the film was “Lone Watie”....(sorry) :)

Exactly. I have spoken to a Circuit Court judge from Houston on more than one occasion, who has told me that “Texas vs White” would almost assuredly be overturned if challenged.
