Michelle's 'Problem': Walking A Fine Line

She is the most admired woman in the world. She has smarts, beauty, style, a great husband, a great mother, two beautiful children and a very handsome dog.

And if she were a Republican, it would read something like this:

"She is the most admired woman in the world. She is married to the most powerful man in the world. She has money, influence, privilege, and a great plastic surgeon.

Except that both women are black, no.

unconscious discrimination based on unspoken assumptions about how powerful women are supposed to act. In the literature, it's called the comfort zone — the little teeny zone between too sexy and not feminine enough; between a tiger and a marshmallow; between pushy and pushover. That's what Michelle Obama is up against. And she's not the only one.

People don't like her because she exudes bitch molecules from every pore.

While I think the Michelle Obama worship is crazy, I also think a lot of the Michelle Obama bashing here is crazy, too. Yeah, she’s black. That’s making the left-wing press say all kinds of crazy stuff but it’s also apparently getting people in the right to play right into the stereotype of bigotry. It’s hare to complain about a stereotype when people are willing to provide evidence that it’s true.

So, does everyone bashing Michelle Obama’s appearance here want to post pictures of themselves, their spouses, their parents, and their children for other people to pick apart? Don’t forget to include old school photos.
