I’ve been digging through my files today.
I have another post that I’m hoping to get finished before leaving for the cemeteries.

More Americans should take a few minutes during their cookouts to remember the meaning of their 3-day weekend. And that they wouldn’t be having it without the selfless sacrifice of so many brave American soldiers.
Yesterday I put flowers on my husband’s grave and then went to the other side of the cemetary (in car) and decorated my Mom and Dad’s grave. I put an American flag on each with the flowers. I used red carnations with daisies for both!
Thank you so much Conor. My husband was a recipient of two Purple Hearts and The Navy Cross. He would have considered it an honor to meet you. Semper Fi, Sir!

A couple of weeks ago I read that a city in MA canceled the Memorial Day parade due to budgetary constraints.
I was suprised to realize how mad I felt about it. Surely you can imagine how that significantly increased this day’s importance to me.
I wasn’t the only one the news got a rise out of and somehow the parade came off as scheduled.
It sure was a good one, Lady! There are so many. There is one by one of our President’s, maybe many, many years ago and I haven’t done a search for it. Part of it “When we stop being a Nation under God”....and I forget the rest. In my memory, I think it was a long ago President.
