I could really get excited if Specter, McCain, Snowe and Collins all went ahead and left the Republican party. Then, maybe we can put some serious energy into restoring the Republican Party back to its true base.

The GOP takes back the Legislative Branch, then what?
Good question. I hope, should that happen, that it doesn’t turn into a repeat of 94, when the Republican Congress leveled things out enough to allow Clinton a second term. Had the GOP not won in 94, Clinton wouldn’t have won in 96, but that’s old hat. Anything would be better than what we’ve got now, and a true conservative Congress could maybe offset the impending disaster. Has the Republican Party learned its lesson from 2006 and 2008? Who knows?
