It is an interesting picture, but any resemblance to an Apollo capsule is purely superficial, being based on that small cloud shape, which is presumably the size of a small building at least.

I’m not saying it actually is one, just that the shape, trajectory and suggestions of aerodynamics make it look rather so. There’s even what looks like a shockwave ahead of the object evident in the edge of the cloudbank.

Not sure what you’re using as reference for scale, either. It could be anything from the size of a VW Beetle on up to Space Shuttle in size, perhaps even larger than that.

I’m using the general appearance of the clouds for scale, along with an assumption of their height, so just a cloud-watcher’s feeling.

The “contrails” are very “lazy” and appear to be trailing an object going 10’s of mile per hour. An Apollo capsule on reentry would have traversed this scene in a few seconds ... at 100,000 feet! At the apparent altitude of this shape, or object, it would have its chutes open. I would have to guess that this is a purely meteorological phenomenon. Some kind of vortex at altitude? Who knows!

At a place I used to work at, one of the guys one day called me JoJo, and it stuck. Seems it was around the time of Boz Scaggs and Lido Shuffle. Then someone tacked on JoJo Gunn, shoot 'em on the run. When it came up signup time here, I just couldn't think of anything else.

Can't remember but one song by JoJo Gunne, and never thought it was very good.

Oh good grief, is that JoJo Gunn?

Oh no, that's the old me. You should see me now, after last week's introduction to Lasix.  ;)

There was a time when I collected alt/experimental rock from the mid-60’s to the early 70’s era, really enjoyed it since I was far too young to know about it, let alone enjoy it, and I honestly don’t recognize the band name.

Glad to hear that that full moon over Manhattan isn’t you, lol.

That doesn’t even begin to get into the bit about professional photographers having a loaded camera next to them on the car seat and never even coming close to thinking of using it during the sighting or abduction.

But it always comes back to the question of why flying saucers seem to be documented only by those in the "cheap seats".

As has been said before, witness the grassroots level of the flying saucer movement. It's loaded with hucksters and carnival barkers and various other New Age freaks, not to mention Wrasslin' lovers and followers of astrology and various religions. Take the source of this thread alone, where the "author" also promotes itself as a psychic. And how about that catchy name of One World Psychics, huh? It's sure to be a Conservative crowd pleaser.

Is the Freep destined to be just another segment of the tabloid demographic?

Pffffffft.

I don’t think you’ve attended many UFO conferences nor talked to many international experts in the field.

It’s exceedingly plausible to me,

that ANY FIELD

wherein the OCCULT, NEW AGE, OLIGARCHIC GLOBALISM, SATANIC TYRANNY etc.

are involved . . . will have a lot of disinformation, a lot of hoax, a lot of hoakey, a lot of craziness, an lot of smoke and mirrors, etc. etc. etc.

Filtering out chaff and truth is not easy in such fields.

That does not mean it’s impossible.

I guess my 6 years as a librarian have helped me in that regard.

NEW MEXICO/AZ/CO/UT 4 CORNERS AREA

I have chest congestion and sinus infection I’m trying to get over.

I USUALLY get up for bladder breaks too often because I drink too much water too late at night.

And USUALLY, my sinus gunk requires me to get up and compute or read for a while to get cleared out so I can breathe easily sleeping again. All the more so with a sinus infection etc.

It’s not a big deal. I’ve lived this way most of my life. Thankfully, my work has tended to be 3 day weeks with hours to suite my natural tendencies. I’m not usually up for good until 8:00-9:00 or so.

I get plenty of sleep most of the time. It’s just in 2-4 jumps worth.

I’ve had sinus problems too over a lifetime, but this time it turned out that drinking plenty of fluids was almost deadly, go figure.

Have to go for another blood draw this morning. Monday’s test revealed too much blood thinners, so I’m off of the pills and shots at least until the results come in this afternoon. Maybe I’ll get lucky and can forget the syringes.

Go back to sleep.
