Bringing this back up is a provocation to get the guy to send a message saying he made it, blah, blah, blah. The FBI is counting on this guy’s pride to come out and send a message of some sort just to “prove” he succeeded. Technique works with anyone because of PRIDE. If they don’t hear anything, they can assume he died in the attempt.
