It's sad, isn't it, that they can't golf there anymore.

He who respects the Infant's faith Triumph's over Hell & DeathThis line from the poem reminds me of something that happened with our little Emma recently.

We were at a restaurant eating a birthday dinner for our daughter-in-law. Emma ate a good supper, so her "Papa" (my hubby) asked her if she wanted dessert. She said, "Yes, I think I would like a sundae with a red cherry on top. I don't care for the sprinkles or nuts though." So Papa ordered her a sundae with a cherry on top. She waited anxiously for that red cherry. She didn't seem to care about the sundae, she was only interested in the red cherry.
Finally the sundae arrived and her eyes lit up at the sight of that red cherry. She didn't eat it right away, but just sat and admired it with anticipation. Papa leaned over and said, "Emma, may I have that red cherry?" Oh my, you should have seen her face. She was in actual shock that Papa had asked for the one thing that she loved above all else at the moment. She sat quietly for a couple of minutes and then she looked up at her Papa and said, "I really really like cherries, but Papa, if you want it you can have it." I think we all cried. Of course he didn't take her cherry

Beautiful poem. I don’t always get it all...hence the Gracie. ;) After I read it, I googled and read quite a bit of analysis of this poem. ;) Very interesting and so meaningful. Thanks Lady Jag :)

I wanted to stop by and say hi and to tell you Aqua, that your two graphics and poem in today's opening are just beautiful. I love covered bridges and the little poem about Mother's Garden sure makes me think of my Mother, who loved to work in her flowers better than anything in the world. She truly had a green thumb....I've never been quite as good with flowers as 'Mom'. Thank you also, Amy, for posting this.

What a beautiful soul! Thank you for that touching story.
Most kids would whine and make spectacles of themselves. Heck, I would put up a stink!
Now I want a hot fudge sundae with whipped cream and a big red cherry.

I would reformat that poem and add spaces. LOL! I kept losing my place with my bad attention span.
If I had any wall space left I print and frame it.

She is a beautiful soul. She is the least selfish child I've ever seen, thanks to her mother's good teaching skills. Everything she has received since she was big enough to know anything, she has been told that she must share. I've never heard her say "no". The word is not in her vocabulary because we have never used that word around her.
Just yesterday I was shopping and there was a mom with a little girl who looked to be about 3. That child was screaming and beating up on her mother, and when her mom said "stop" she would come back with a big nasty "NO!" I had to thank the good Lord for Emma.
