US-CERT is aware of public reports indicating a widespread infection of the Conficker/Downadup worm, which can infect a Microsoft Windows system from a thumb drive, a network share, or directly across a corporate network, if the network servers are not patched with the

MS08-067 patch from Microsoft.

Home users can apply a simple test for the presence of a Conficker/Downadup infection on their home computers. The presence of a Conficker/Downadup infection may be detected if a user is unable to surf to their security solution website or if they are unable to connect to the websites, by downloading detection/removal tools available free from those sites:

http://www.symantec.com/norton/theme.jsp?themeid=conficker_worm&inid=us_ghp_link_conficker_worm

http://www.microsoft.com/protect/computer/viruses/worms/conficker.mspx

http://www.mcafee.com

If a user is unable to reach any of these websites, it may indicate a Conficker/Downadup infection. The most recent variant of Conficker/Downadup interferes with queries for these sites, preventing a user from visiting them. If a Conficker/Downadup infection is suspected, the system or computer should be removed from the network or unplugged from the Internet - in the case for home users.

Instructions, support and more information on how to manually remove a Conficker/Downadup infection from a system have been published by major security vendors.

2. Funding for EMP defense must be a top national priority. To downgrade or halt our missile defense program, which after twenty five years of research is at last becoming viable, would be an action of criminal negligence.<<<

The thought of all the effort that President Bush put out to see that there were sites all over the world for shooting down these missiles, i want scream at obama and clinton to not undo his work, which they are doing.

We will pay for the past election in so many ways, that the depression will mean nothing.

Yes, all our electronic tools and don’t forget all the modern vehicles that will stop dead in the roadway, when their computers stop working.

A few years ago when the east coast was without electric, because someone messed with the program in Ohio, I was confused, they showed photos of people sleeping on the streets of New York.

They were sleeping on the streets, for they could not get in their apartments, with the fancy electronic door locks, or get to the 30th floor apartment, as all the doors had electronics and the elevators did not work.

Dr. Bill Wattenberg invented some thing that would be installed on semi trucks, and a cop could do something to and stop the truck instantly.

Dr. Bill gave the patent to the California Highway Patrol, but I don’t think they ever tested it fully........but if they have it, then who else now has it..........in california, it would be shared.

This was a real invention, for Dr. Bill is an inventor of nuclear weapons for the U.S. Gov.

He did not tell us exactly how it worked, but I always wondered it it was something that would shut down the motor.

We are in as much danger today, as we ever was during the cold war, except that today, we have N. Korea, Iran and who knows who else to worry about.

And a set of elected leaders, who will smile at the enemy and say peace and expect good things to happen.

Why not try to get the plastic buckets that they give away in the cafe’s and bakeries and use them?

Or the new plastic bags that cat food comes in, they could have the tops rolled a couple times and then the roll stapled shut.

My first thought was the paint cans, but the metal and chemicals might not be a good mix.

Of course the off sized jars, that cannot be used for canning would work, LOL, except that I used a lot of those for salt storage.

ABC: Judge Cuts Water to California Farmers to Save Endangered Fish
NewsBusters ^ | March 31, 2009 | Brad Wilmouth

Posted on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 12:15:18 PM by Zakeet

On the March 28 World News Saturday, ABC gave rare attention to the plight of drought-stricken farmers in California who have been denied access to a major water supply by a judge citing the Endangered Species Act to protect a type of fish. During a story recounting the unusual level of problems facing these farmers – a recession coinciding with drought – correspondent Lisa Fletcher informed viewers: “And for the first time ever, farmers may be completely cut off from one of their sources of water. Farmers don’t have access to this water that runs right through the center of their farmland. It is being allocated to the delta smelt, a little fish protected by the Endangered Species Act. Conservationists say the smelt are dying in the irrigation pumps, so a judge ruled they must be shut off for much of the growing season.”

continued, see photo in post 1.............and rant and rave.

We all wind up posting something that has been posted before, so don’t ever worry about that, for what is posted is only important, if it happens to reach the person who needs it and not many have been through the almost 16,000 posts that make up the 2 threads, #1 is linked on the first page.

We need readers always, LOL, and more posters too.

Makes good sense.

I thought of you early this morning, for I glanced out the window and there was a pair of very large Ring Necked Doves on the electric wire and sure enough, they had come to have a meal of the cats food.

A couple hours later, I looked out a window, in time to see a young Dove landing for lunch.

No wonder they are so fat and healthy, cat food has to be richer than plain old weed seeds and bugs.

They saw me, but landed on the food any way.

Sometimes, I hear a beautiful bird song and have never figured out who sings it, have no idea, for the singer stays hidden.

It has been over 25 years since my Red Rumped Parakeet from Australia got out of the Aviary, they have an 8 note song and it is lovely.

He had gotten out of his aviary room and when I opened the door, he was gone in a flash.
