Fantastic meal, we will be right over.
It is wonderful that you produced it from your efforts and hard work.
That makes it even better.
I looked at them last time I was in the store - $2.89 and they were all picked too green.
You are making my mouth water for a nice cantaloupe!
Well, I’ll add my stuff today. It won’t look as completely survivalist as yours but we got a little from the home stores.
Lloyd is home sick today so I made him some chicken soup.
Chicken broth (from store)
Carrots (from store)
Taters (homegrown and dried)
Celery (from my home dried stash)
Broccoli (home grown)
Garlic (homegrown)
onion (homegrown)
sage (homegrown)
basil (homegrown)
cilantro (homegrown)
salt (from store)
pepper (from store)
Bread (homemade, but purchased ingredients including flax seed and oat bran for Lloyd’s cholesterol)
honey and cinnamon mixed and spread on bread per the post on the previous page
That’s Lloyd’s food.
I don’t like chicken so I had leftover chili.
beef (storebought)
tomatoes (grown here)
chilis (grown here)
onions (grown here)
salt (bought)
Pepper (bought)
comninos (bought)
If this rain does not go away and stay gone, I won’t even be able to prepare cheese and crackers, it does me in.
I can do that. First I'll have to post a funny story about the older daughter so I can embarrass them both. They should both be visiting the week before my birthday.
Dunno what ailment Im got that Im trying to remedy but the medicine works so good Im having some more.<<<
Well if it is that good, have a slice for me, I need it.
Bill always drank my cranberry juice and it made me well.
One glass out of the bottle was all I could handle.
Link???
Thats 167.6 Pound CUCUMBERS???<<<
It is that Kudzu compost.....
Think about all the compost you could make.
Forgot to add to the day's food. Lloyd had 1/2 cantaloupe for a mid-afternoon snack.
oh, DelaWhere? Would you like the other half of this cantaloupe? Lloyd said it was *very* tasty.
sorry... couldn't resist.
Either Chili or soup, both sound good.
It is wonderful that you grew so much of it.....

Careful, think this out, Mothers day is going to come soon, if Obama does not write another executive order on it.
And now there will be two of us after you to take it. ~grin~
Maybe you need a little sliced tomato on that cheese. But, since you get the delivered food from Walton does that mean you only get fresh things once a month when Scott comes?
I am still wanting to try two things you posted last week. One is a cereal where you sprout the wheat berries for 2 days then "cook" it in a thermos of boiling water. Sounds yummy.
The other was a staple food made from beans, wheat and 2 other grains all ground and cooked in a crock pot and then you fried it. Well, I did print those instructions out so I'm not totally flying by the seat of my pants, just haven't done these things yet.
However, I did plant almost 100 root tips from scallions I found in my compost today. Maybe I'll get lots of onions from them.

Well, they always say cranberry juice for urinary problems. Various times in my life I had UTI's that wouldn't go away. Resistant to normal antibiotics. Cranberry juice did not do one thing for me.
So, one of my Grama's old friends recommended making a tea out of watermelon seeds. You crush the watermelon seeds, boil, steep, strain and drink. That will kick any urinary flareups I have in 1/2 day. But, you have to keep your watermelon seeds because an infection doesn't ever happen when you've just eaten a watermelon. ~wink~
Im forcing myself to have a second dose of medicine tonight.
I tried that honey cinnamon remedy on some bread fresh out of the oven.
Dunno what ailment Im got that Im trying to remedy but the medicine works so good Im having some more.<<<
Don’t gang up on me, W Neighbor will eat my medicine for me.
LOL...I asked her to do so.
Actually, I expect to like it as I do enjoy cinnamon toast.
Hugs for all of you.
Ma'am. You already know me well enough to know that I loved every moment of that.
Lloyd just wanted to know what made me laugh so loud. ROFL....
I am so blessed to have really quirky kids who can laugh at themselves. Of course, they laugh at their mom too. But, they are fun. And both very good company.
Man, I’m tellin’ ya, I forget why I thought we should try that cinnamon and honey but it was so good I gotta keep taking it.
Will it help my memory?
Scare me!!! I gotta admit I didn't see that in that article cause when it started talking about trimming your kudzu for compost I cringed! That stuff grows so fast it's just plumb scary!!! I know it would take me over.
