Actually I was referring to Mabel Chomski. A nice old neighbor lady I remember as a kid.

My parents met Jimmy Durante when his car broke down near the cottage they were renting.
He stayed for dinner, and they said he was a really nice guy.

Ah. As kids we had an old neighbor lady who was not nice. She didn't like us chasing baseballs landing in gardens when we played in the empty lot next door. Until the day when once again a ball landed in her garden and I asked her politely if I could fetch it, promising to remain on the lawn and the walkways.
She was nice (to me) after that.

"Not being certain of your remark, I did a search on Dogpile.com. And am really sorry I did." You should know better than to dig too deeply into things that I say. First examine the surface meaning: In this case I was making a joke about Hopie and Changey, nothing more.
If what I say makes apparent sense, then there probably is a hidden meaning that is not so obvious. That's when you do your research.
For example, my jest about Roman Logarithms. That was nonsense, meant to go no further.
However, if I spoke about Charles Babbage's mental gears, there could just be more to my meaning.

But to this day I have no idea whether she had any theory of the ha syntax among the Hopie Indian children.

"But to this day I have no idea whether she had any theory of the ha syntax among the Hopie Indian children." Any sufficiently experienced lady knows that all children have a "ha" syntax.
Back me up, 'Face.

"I feel I need a Jimmy Durante story." There was no Mrs. Calabash.
As I heard it, Jimmy Durante stopped at a wayside restaurant going by the name of Calabash's. The proprietors had a different name.
Mr. Durante was so appreciative of the great food and good service that he promised to remember the cook on his radio program.
He made good on his promise, but he didn't use the actual person's name. I think it worked better that way.

“Ha-” is the article “the” in Hebrew.

Reminds me of the time I was talking about the impact of post-modernism on the neo-classical movement. Boy, I sure felt like a klutz.

Ha- is the article the in Hebrew. And "Tha" (pronounced "ha") is approximately "is/am" in Gaelic.
"Tha mi gu math" - [Am] [I] [(to) good] - I am good.

As I heard it, he referred to his late wife as “Mrs. Calabash.”
He said it with such reverence at the end of his show that I think it was heartfelt.

If you knew enough languages, you could probably produce a sentence out of nothing but “ha”!

I’m pretty sure I’ve heard Michelle Obama use it at the end of many sentences.
