Sure, but believability is important, within the context of the show.
If the cut Bauer’s head off, and then after the break they were sewing it back on, I doubt too many people would say “Hey, it’s just a TV show”.
I don’t tend to complain when inaccuracy is required for the plot, but rather when it’s just a lack of attention to detail.
