I put two rds of 3” 00 buck in a pistol griped 870 once.
AND braced for it.
I was a fool to shoot two rds.

I like the looks of a classic double barrel but their is nothing inherently wrong with the pistol grip. Just make sure there is a stock too.
I taught skeet for several years. I once tried a SPAS and was surprised how well it handled on the skeet range.
I have arthritis, pretty bad in my hands and shoulders. I have noticed that my Winchester Defender is far easier to handle now that I replaced the standard stock with one which makes it look a bit like an assault rifle. That pistol grip really does help.
