I had the exact same thought regarding the Senate Resolution as it was a pointless bit of legislation. McCain is a creep IMHO, but he was clearly eligible so why the resolution?
For about two months...I have been on a slightly different conclusion than most of you. Its not the “where” on the birth certificate that matters...because I think Hawaii will be the birthsite no matter what happens. Its the dates that won’t match up with the Obama story.
This mother of his...Stanley Ann...in the constant story that we’ve been given...applied to a Chicago university and it appears that was always her plan in the summer of 1960. Then suddenly...the family decides to move to Hawaii in August...and she goes with them. There never was any need for Stanley Ann to make this trip to Hawaii....unless she was already pregnant.
Once you start to realize the dates...then you come to the conclusion that she didn’t get pregnant in November and deliver in August 1961 to Obama. She was pregnant probably in late July or early August of 1960...and likely delivered at the end of April or early May 1961. The introduction of this Kenyan guy as the “father”? Just the one lucky guy in the University of Hawaii who would fit into this entire scenario. This Kenyan guy never got her pregnant because she was likely already pregnant.
Go look around for wedding day pictures of the Kenyan guy and Stanley Ann...the only pictures you see are shots from several years after the fact....not the wedding day. I’ve wasted at least a dozen hours looking...and yet have found none. The reason? When they married at the end of April 1961...Stanley Ann was a good nine months pregnant by my scenario.
Check the college time while in Hawaii....they arrive six weeks into the fall semester in 1960...which is amazing that a college would accept a situation like that. Then at the end of December in 1960...Stanley Ann finishes the semester and doesn’t go back. If you were a mere two months pregnant as we are supposed to believe...then its kinda silly. This is not the case...she was likely six months pregnant by that point.
The folks who met Stanley Ann around the third week of August 1961 in Seattle? Well...its kinda funny that the kid was barely born about ten days prior to that and here she is in Seattle...and then turns around to attend university there (as if part of her master plan)....and doesn’t go back to the family or this “husband” of hers. She spends three semesters at Seattle, for those who are curious.
So the real story here? None of the story that we’ve been told via Obama on his “father” or his timelines...really fit. And the real father? Its a curious that that Stanley Ann and the kid Obama both are stuck on going to the Chicago area.
So this entire birth certificate story will likely just sit there and never be solved...but when it finally comes out...its the dates that are wrong...and then you’re ask why? And there is the real story of this entire episode.
Because it's all about timing, at this point. There are a few key dates to watch for next month. Patience, my FRiend, we are getting there...

To keep McCain from bringing it up... that simple... and it worked.
Congress however cannot change the constitution.
The amendment itself would have to be changed and ratified by the states to grant OBi-One eligibility.
Obama Sr. went along with the charade likely hoping for marriage with the woman with child to gain citizenship for himself.

I mean, Ohio got all the information on Joe the Plumber so easily from state records when they should not have.

I asked someone that a couple of weeks before the election (a FReeper), and his answer was that it was because they did not want to be accused of being 'racist!' Pure bollocks if you ask me, just a convenient excuse. However, I decided to play along, and thus asked, if that was the reason, whether or not it made them great leaders if they were willing to throw away the Constitution and rule of law just for the fear of being called a name? The person never responded, and no one else on that thread did for that fact.
However I decided to play it further, and asked why someone like Palin would not make it an issue. Sure, one could say that Juan McCain is a wimp (he is), but Sarah is a cracking juggernaut! Although the answer might be that McCain's handlers got her. Alright ...then let's game this further. What about HILLARY? When she was running against Obama, she became quite desperate near the end. Yet, she never brought up the COLB issue. Why? When it would be a veritable nuclear weapon on Obama's face! When it would have deep-sixed him when she was getting very vulnerable?
Anyways, to the first part, the question is not whether or not there is a conspiracy amongst Dems/Libs. That is to be expected, and if it is the case it would not be surprising. About the same level as seeing a hen lay an egg.
HOWEVER, how come no one is asking why the Republican Party and the Conservative Media is not making an issue out of it. And how, outside conservative websites and some talk-radio, the whole issue basically does not exist? There are three possible answers:
i) Maybe they know there is a COLB
ii) Maybe the 'conspiracy' is much deeper and wider, and that the Right is just as corrupted as the Left (even more so since they are defending the 'other party'), and the country got sold down a creek quite a while back and the Democrat-Republican 'division' is just something to keep the FreeRepublic and Democratic Underground crowd busy.
iii) Maybe the Conservative forums and talk-radio who are bringing up the COLB issue are simply ahead of the curve, operating in an opaque coccoon that has not been penetrated by every single person group and entity outside the forums and radio, and thus we simply need to wait for them to 'catch up.' After all, remember that our very own Buckhead is the one who broke the type-writer thing right here on FR before anyone else. Maybe this is a repeat of that.
Personally, I have doubts that the COLB will gain any traction. The thing is, if one is going to talk about conspiracies, for one to exist it would mean the involvement of the WhiteHouse and the Republican Party. Why?

Maybe Hillary was afraid to use what she had as it would put her in the position of torpedoing the Democratic side and the backlash wouldn’t allow her to win the election regardless.
If so she may have tried to put it out there through other channels (Berg) put the media filed it under ‘G’. Obama did a somewhat strange thing in giving her State, and seemed willing to agree to most of what she demanded to do so.
Obama helped to craft the bill.
McCaskill and Obama added unnecessary phrase,
