Well, last night’s storm fizzled. Was attempting to snow when I got up, but it was too warm for anything to stick. Almost nothing on the radar.

I love it when that happens.

The classic line I heard was, “I’m so proud of the weather department. They’ve accurately predicted five of the last three snowstorms.”

LOL. It’s pretty typical here. The forecasts are usually colder than the reality and snow appears in the forecast more than reality.

Dog is in the kitchen snivelling because Shannon called her a rude name. Shannon is under the lamp table in the living room telling us all What She Thinks. Fortunately, Wednesday is hiding upstairs right now.

The good news is that she likes Der Prinz. The dog, I mean, whose name is Ash. The reptiles like him because his body temperature is higher than theirs, but that’s not enough affection.

He took Ash outside, and I’ve rescued Shannon and put her in the dog-proof room with her food and box.

Now Ash is sad: DP left her to go to Wal-mart.

She’s going to nap in a sunbeam until he gets back. I foresee conflict with catz over this issue.

Dark and gloomy and snowing here too. But it’s 37F, so it won’t stick. (Hardly any snow anyway.)

...If you find out or find some, ping me. BTW, I wrote in Ron Paul for president. I guess I threw away my vote, but here in Kentucky, my wife and stepson threw away their vote for Obama. Ah well Obama is for now President elect, unless the tin hat partisan republicans can figure out the constitutionality of the election. For me, I can still have a good time arguing politics with my family here in KY...

"I foresee conflict with catz over this issue."

Yep, the potential is always there ...

Cat, Waiting For The Sunlight

The morning sun is shining bright,
Dust motes down the hall begin to stir.
Cat is sitting patiently, with paws tucked in for warmth,
Waiting for the Sun to start its purr.

Cat knows how to speak the language of the Sun,
She hears the happy thrumming of its voice.
And lying in the sunlight while the music plays,
Unless she’s really hungry, is her choice.

Of course the dog disturbs her reveries,
Crowding in to warm like a china bull,
She gives a stare that should melt fur.
Perhaps her batteries are not quite full.

Reluctantly, she leaves her post,
With a gaze of mild regret. She’s very put upon,
The Sun winks knowingly back to her,
They’ll have a tryst in private later on.

Sounds like what we’ll see tomorrow. Wednesday has come downstairs, at least. Vlad is not very interested, except for observing that Ash is very big. James keeps shrieking enthusiastically at her.
