It’s more of a scuttle than a bailout.

It should more properly be called the Anti-Capitalism Destruction of the American Economy Bill.

The U.S. government is buying the U.S. economy. With whose money?

W is being rolled like a comatose drunk.

Too late for that. It's PL ("Public Law") and the bailout portion is now an "Act." I was buried in another portion of the PL, but did notice in the "Misc" section the "toy wooden arrows" tax reduction/exemption.

Reading the stuff that comes out of Congress, and gets signed by the President, can make one pretty cynical pretty quickly. A week or two I was asked to read another Act, proclaiming the opportunity for organizations to register as partners in a government-industry initiative. After studying it a while I realized that the industry organization that broadcast this information very likely wouldn't qualify -- the rules for joining were so narrow that only one organization I know of could join (and it is very liberal).

That sounds similar to a law produced here in Maryland. It was specifically crafted to apply a financial burden to only one company, WalMart.

Because it was obviously discriminatory, in a later suit it was declared unconstitutional. Mirabile dictu!

However, had it been merely laser-focused on an opportunistic special group, there would probably not have been anyone to raise a complaint, and it would likely have gone into effect.

It’s sad when those who are chosen and given oaths to protect us simply prey on us instead.

I thinking about how corrupt some states are. As far as I can tell California is not very corrupt. Legislators have pass laws make many forms of cronyism legal and aboveboard.

Could be. Firefox 3.0.4 on Kubuntu doesn’t do that.

On this computer, I’m using an old version of Firefox. It doesn’t do it either.

Rolled? He’s busy trying to buy himself a legacy with our cash... Kinda hard to roll someone when they are standing on the street corner giving out cash to all comers.

It’s the delusional aspect I’m referring to.

W seems to think this process will secure him a valuable position in the pantheon of past presidents.

Unfortunately, he’s going to find himself stuck between Carter and Clinton.

That’s a kind of a special Hell, if you ask me.

Good morning! 20 degrees, sun not yet up. DP will have to de-ice the truck to drive to Columbia for Anoreth’s new friend. We’ll have pictures by the end of the day :-).

Totally. Up to 21 now that the sun is up. Still had to de-ice the truck. It might be in the 40’s later. I hope the dog comes with a sweater!
