Ok...I need advice...some assistance if you can help me!
I am enjoying watching Buffy (from hulu.com) on my laptop, but would rather be able to watch it on my TV screen. I have an RGB port on my laptop and an S-Video port, firewire port and also a USB port on my DVD recorder that is hooked up to my TV. I also have the standard composite (yellow red white) setup.
Is there such a thing as a cable that will go from my computer to my DVD recorder and ultimately show my Buffy on my TV screen?
Heh.
I read LOTR before The Hobbit so I know where you’re coming from.
Eh, don't let 'em rattle you. I haven't read the books either. I tried to read The Hobbit once, but I was too old, and put it down after a few pages.
My husband, the delightful Bear in RoseBear, had to drag me to the first movie --- based on my bad experience with The Hobbit, I wasn't expecting much. Of course, by Bilbo's birthday bash, I was entranced; by the time the Fellowship formed, I was asking questions every few seconds (yeah, I'm like that in movies --- my husband is a furry saint); by the end of the movie, I was ready for the next installment ... right then and there!
The movie trilogy, which is based on the Lord of the Rings book trilogy, takes place many years after The Hobbit. The hero of The Hobbit is Frodo's uncle, Bilbo. The adventures of Gandalf and Bilbo and the others will stretch over two movies nicely --- from what I'm told, there's huge chunks of good stuff that was left out of the Lord of the Rings movies.
I'm looking forward to it!
What led you to the Lord of the Rings movies?
No doubt, they wanted to be found.
Oh yeah - we’re OK just wet.
Lots of fairly major flooding going on around though.
Gonna need more boats. :~)
The Lord of the Rings movies were really a gamble ... it's mildly amazing they were made at all, at least in the way they were.
While replying to you, I realized how very long it's been since I saw the movies, one after the other after the other. In fact, I'm not sure we've ever lined up all three at once, bang-bang-bang.
We should do that, once football season is over ...
O_O
We would need what like 11 hours?
That's how much football we watch on any given Saturday and/or Sunday this time of year, or rather, just before this time of year.
More like 12ish isn't it? Seems like that's what it was when Jr. and I did the marathon. And that was before the extended version of ROTK.
weneedamoot...
One caveat is that the S-Video to RGB would only give you video. Doesn't cover audio. I keep thinking about picking up something like this that would include audio as well...but haven't yet.
OK, ‘fess up...who ordered the monsoon?
And can we send it back?
Wow, this is a lot of rain.
I couldn’t even get home by my normal route. Deschutes Parkway was closed due to threat of landslide, so I had go up around the courthouse.
I made it back via the interstate, but it was like driving on slush only with lousy visibility...heavy water that was grabbing at my tires. And some idiot in a tractor trailer who was right on my tail even though I was going fifty.
I hear they’ve closed I-5 just south of here.
Can’t we just have some non-extreme weather for a change? Overcast and drizzly would be just fine about now...
we do needamoot
Yeah - they may have closed it at Scatter Creek, around Exit 88. If so, that puts Bob and Kay’s at some potential risk. They aren’t far from the creek at all.
Looking at the news now... I think they just closed it at Grand Mound for Chehalis, because it’s the easiest place to turn people around. It may not be scatter creek at all.
We’re going to have sun by the weekend. It’s supposed to be nice for several days. We just have to get through tomorrow.
