Billie, what a wonderful job you have done capturing us as teddy bears! Not only choosing the bear that matches our personalities but then finding the perfect quote to go with each one. You have put a LOT of time into this, but....yes, I know you enjoyed every minute. :-)

Darn, I missed Louie's return yesterday. Glad to see my very most favorite wolf/bear/freeperguy has surfaced. ;-)

Speaking of which, this is my favorite portrait of my favorite bear. Isn't he suave and charming and squeezably huggable???

I have a fluffy Teddy somewhere, but haven’t found it since I moved. May have given it to my granddaughter. I used to have it sitting on my desk. Boo Hoo.

I hope your lines get better. I noticed FR was down this morning for quite awhile. Whew, that isn’t easy to take, is it?

Thank you, LoriBear. :) Some of the personalized teddies from the Teddy Bears on Parade thread are still there, but I noticed that most of them have the tinypic logo now. I kept many of them in a folder, though, and will be posting some of them here later. :)

I didn't know that FR was down - must have been very early. My house phone line is okay, but I don't have a jack for 'that' line here in my office. I can rig it up if this one keeps acting up and the phone guy doesn't get here soon.

Amy, you are an excellent diplomat, even though you may not think so. I know how much you hate conflict and this is not easy for you. But good job, Sistah, and thank you for everything you do each day to keep Amy's Place what it is. :-)

Teddy Bear Day, eh?

Here's a pic of a Land of the Free Because of the Brave Teddy Bear I got last year at our local Veteran's Day Celebration.

I squeezed into my 44 year old set of Dress Blues and attended church services in the morning and then the program in the afternoon. The organizers of the celebration passed out these Teddy Bears to those of us in uniform.

The bear is holding a letter to "Soldier, Airman, Sailor, Marine, Guardsman and Veteran". By pressing a button in the foot, a recorded message with various voices expressing thanks begins to play "Dear Soldier ....". Not ashamed to admit that tears well up when I hear it played. He also wears a dog tag which reads "Land of the Free Because of the Brave".

A program is in the works at our church for Veteran's Day 2008. Part of the program will be a Veteran's Choir. So far, 50 Vets have signed up to sing "Eternal Father, Strong to Save" and "The Mansions of the Lord." It's gonna be another great day! Hope to video the entire service.

What roses do you have in your garden? This rose's name is Moonstone. It's a very hardy hybrid tea. It blooms in the heat too, when most of the other roses take a break.
