When are you leaving?
The local weatherman is an ijit.
Where do they get that 900 miles across? The latest discussion says the tropical storm force winds extend 175 miles from the center...that’s about 350 miles by my math...
Yeah...well it’s looking better for you but if it does go left yall aren’t going to have much time to get out of Dodge.
The radar footprint of the entire storm. Looking at the radar image, the big white blob is 900 miles wide.
Katrina was 400 miles wide.
The outer clouds... TS force winds are not out nearly that far at all, but the size of the system starts to make it much harder to turn.
Have you been watching the Fox feed with Bob the weather guy? The man is certifiable. What a total buffoon. He’s telling his viewers that Gustav has a chance of going into the Panhandle of FL or going far left into Texas. He’s really giving his viewers poor info. I’ve not seen any models that indicate the movement he’s referring to.

This Fox news weather guy is telling his viewers to wait until morning to see if the storm turns....then decide if they should evacuate or not. Unreal.

Burnt Sienna streamlines >50kts (<55kts).
Prayers for all those near and in the path of this storm
Doesn’t take me very long to get in the car and drive. :)
My guy in NOLA just sent me Blackberry saying they’re moving up their plans a few hours- sooner rather than later.
I thought they were going to start running interstate traffic in one direction?
Adding my prayers for those in the path of this storm too, NN.
4am Sunday.
Thanks for the update. Gustav is in the GOM now.
In a way theguy is sorta right. A deviation from it current path could send it either way regardless of what any model says. Sometimes these storms take on a personality of their own and do the unexplained. I have seen many of a storm disregard what the models or forcasters say.
