The brief history of each one certainly made the presentation more interesting.

Memories
Memories in black and white, of sunny days gone by,
Recalling smiles and music, the taste of summer fun,
The blue of sky, the yellow sun, the bright green of the grass,
In black and white photos in my mind, now that the days are done.
Those silent pictures singing out their music and their joy,
Of hayrides, songfests, parties and families gathered up,
To pat the heads and see the smiles of the newest younguns,
And all of that crammed into a photograph with edges all curled up.
Your fancy computers may hold a lot of data, and then connect you,
With a world much wider than Ive known and wandered,
But if it cant expand a faded image into distant laughter,
Then you may find it isnt time but life youve squandered.

Lassa Fever
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:9
When Lily Pinneo, a missionary nurse, was in West Africa, she contracted a deadly disease called Lassa fever. After Lily was flown to New York for medical treatment, her temperature soared to 107°F. To reduce the fever, doctors packed her in ice and fed her intravenously. The fever subsided. After 9 weeks, she had lost 28 pounds and most of her hair. Yet somehow, she survived.
In a laboratory, Dr. Casals carefully isolated and analyzed the Lassa virus. But he too fell ill from his exposure to the disease. At the time, no known treatment was effective. Fortunately, Nurse Pinneo was convalescing and had built up antibodies to the dread disease. She donated blood plasma to Dr. Casals and he recovered too. Her blood saved his life.
All of us are infected with the fatal disease of sin (Rom. 6:23). There is only one cure. It resides in the cleansing power of Jesus Christs shed blood. Paul wrote, Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him (Rom. 5:9). The righteous wrath of God against transgression has been fully satisfied through Jesus death in our place. All we need do is repent, recognize Him as our Savior, and receive the spiritual cure for sin. Have you made that decision?
Redeemedhow I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child, and forever, I am. Crosby

From about 1952 until shortly before I graduated from high school in '57, I worked in a country store on weekends. One of the customers that came into the store on a regular basis had a Model A from about the same period as the car (Model T?) in the picture. It was a two seater with a rumble seat. I know that you aren't supposed to covet but I sure did covet his Model A. I never got a Model A but I did manage to get a '57 Chevy in '59 and that was almost as good.

Research has shown health benefits of laughter ranging from strengthening the immune system to reducing food cravings to increasing one’s threshold for pain. There’s even an emerging therapeutic field known as humor therapy to help people heal more quickly, among other things. Humor also has several important stress relieving benefits.
Stress Management Benefits of Laughter:
Hormones: Laughter reduces the level of stress hormones like cortisol, epinephrine (adrenaline), dopamine and growth hormone. It also increases the level of health-enhancing hormones like endorphins, and neurotransmitters. Laughter increases the number of antibody-producing cells and enhances the effectiveness of T cells. All this means a stronger immune system, as well as fewer physical effects of stress.
Physical Release: Have you ever felt like you “have to laugh or I’ll cry”? Have you experienced the cleansed feeling after a good laugh? Laughter provides a physical and emotional release.
Internal Workout: A good belly laugh exercises the diaphragm, contracts the abs and even works out the shoulders, leaving muscles more relaxed afterward. It even provides a good workout for the heart.
Distraction: Laughter brings the focus away from anger, guilt, stress and negative emotions in a more beneficial way than other mere distractions.
Perspective: Studies show that our response to stressful events can be altered by whether we view something as a ‘threat’ or a ‘challenge’. Humor can give us a more lighthearted perspective and help us view events as ‘challenges’, thereby making them less threatening and more positive.
Social Benefits of Laughter: Laughter connects us with others. Also, laughter is contagious, so if you bring more laughter into your life, you can most likely help others around you to laugh more, and realize these benefits as well. By elevating the mood of those around you, you can reduce their stress levels, and perhaps improve the quality of social interaction you experience with them, reducing your stress level even more!

How long will your grand-daughter be in UCLA Hospital. Is she really young and in the childrens wing? Dita, Just found this question today. She is in the Neo Psyc. ward and was just transferred yesterday to the NEW RONALD REAGAN Hosptial that was on the news last night. She has been in for almost a month and hopefully will be discharged to outpatient therapy on Thursday. She will be 17 in November. Polly
