True Trust
Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. —John 9:3

If you didn’t know him, you might think Nick Vujicic has everything going for him. Nick has never had a sore arm. He’s never had knee problems. He’s never smashed his finger in a door, stubbed his toe, or banged his shin against a table leg.

But that’s because Nick doesn’t have a shin. Or a toe. Or a finger. Or a knee. Or an arm. Nick was born with no arms and no legs. Before you begin to feel sorry for Nick, read his words. “God won’t let anything happen to us in our life unless He has a good purpose for it all. I completely gave my life to Christ at the age of 15 after reading John 9. Jesus said that the reason the man was born blind was ‘so that the works of God may be revealed through him.’ . . . I now see that glory revealed as He is using me just the way I am and in ways others can’t be used.” Nick travels the world to spread the gospel and love of Jesus.

Nick says, “If I can trust in God with my circumstances, then you can trust in God with your circumstances. . . . The greatest joy of all is having Jesus Christ in my life and living the godly purpose He has for me.”

Can we say that? Can we look beyond our limitations and have the same trust in God that transformed a man with no arms or legs into a missionary for Jesus?

Lord, shape my life as only You can,
Guiding each day by Your loving plan;
Take what You need and give what You will;
My life is Yours to use and to fill. —Branon

Trusting God turns problems into opportunities.

The Lewis and Clark Expedition (1804-1806),
headed by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark

SACAGAWEA'S SONG

I am Sacagawea
I am Shoshone
Sure of foot like the goat
Stout of heart like the bear
Taken from my tribe as a child
I have no parents
The earth is my mother
for she nourishes me and gives me food
The golden sun is my father
Now he rises at my back, oh morning star
and sets across tomorrow's path, oh evening star
as I seek the Great Water in the West with these strange men of pale skin
The animals are my brothers
They teach me to be one with the land
as that is the way of the Shoshone
We share this land with buffalo and elk, with otter and beaver
and now with men of pale faces who talk of
others who “own” our land
They need a guide
The rocks and the trees are my map
So I lead them
They sketch and record
for the Great White Father
while I listen to the music of the wind and the water
I am proud Sacagawea
I am proud Shoshone
My baby son, I call him Pomp
He travels on my back
On my journey I came upon my people
People of the plains, Shoshone
I spoke to them with my fingers to my lip
to say “I am one of you!” “I am one of you!”
And they cried out to see me
and gave us horses
Wild horses to ride without saddles over the mountains
My son will be a great man
He will see the Great Water and be wise
My heart pounds with excitement
For my children's children will say
Sacagawea lead them across the land
She was sure of foot like the goat
She was stout of heart like the bear
I will not be afraid
Follow me

— Martha Hart Johns

Yeah, I know. It had music: The theme song from the film "Swimming With Susan Smith."

It's a good thing Lewis and Clark chose
Sacagawea rather than these folks.

Sorry that I missed you last night, Kitty Mittens.

I spent a lot of time on Jim’s thread and then went to bed early.

The front picture is beautiful and I’ll bet the others are also.

Thank you.

All my presentation are showing the same thing now - I think it must have been OESY´s depiction of the witch that hexed us all.

A Home’s Heart

The cabin grew small when the children arrived,
But the happiness fit, and the family thrived.
With a little more room when they added a part,
That surrounded the fireplace that is a home’s heart.

With the breakfast in morning and smiles with the feed,
They scatter to fetch in the things that they need,
So when the day ends and they gather once more,
They’ll be sharing some things you can’t buy at a store.

There’ll be laughter and stories, and some kids to be kissed,
And a song and a prayer, and some items I missed.
When the fire goes out, there’s a sadness you sense,
That four walls without love ain’t much more than a fence.

Dance Like a Chicken Day

When: Always on May 14th

Dance Like a Chicken Day is for those who like to do the "Chicken Dance". All 'ya gotta do is dance like a chicken. While any dance song will do, there's no dance like the Chicken dance.

It's tradition at every wedding reception to play and to dance the Chicken Dance. It gets people of all ages up dancing and mingling. It puts a smile on everyone's face. The Chicken Dance is not limited to weddings. It is also played at other social events where there is a band and dancing.

The only problem is that events are way too infrequent for a chicken dance lover. Therefore, today exists to provide you with another opportunity to dance like a chicken. So, don't pass up this priceless opportunity.

The Chicken Dance song was originally titled "Der Ententanz" (The Duck Dance). It was created by Swiss accordion player Werner Thomas of Davos, Switzerland. Thomas created it in the 1950's.
