Have a great weekend. Did I tell you Happy Mother’s Day? Hmmmm .... Well Happy Mother’s Day!

Amy
That is very unsettling. I can imagine you must have been very nervous and so worried. Thankfully, he stopped calling. I pray you never hear from him again.

I just went and checked it out on my mail and it’s not there either. I guess it expired. It was good for months and months.

Okay, I found the game on two or three links on google and they all were no longer there. A shame. It was a delightful way to waste time on the computer.

LOL. That’s why I loved it. All you had to do was pull socks out of a pile and match them. When they matched they would fold themselves together. Pure insanity, but fun. Well, I’m off to bed. I’m falling asleep on my keyboard. Night all.

The Power Of Pentecost
You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me. —Acts 1:8

A pastor I know and love is discouraged. Although he is diligent in prayer and works hard, his church remains small while a new congregation nearby is rapidly developing into a megachurch. Yet when I think of the alcoholics, drug addicts, and sexually immoral people he has led to the Savior and a new way of life, I see him as one who witnesses in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Because of what happened on the Day of Pentecost (described in Acts 2), we tend to associate the Holy Spirit’s presence and power with amazing phenomena and large numbers. We forget that a little later the same people filled with the same Holy Spirit were rejected, flogged, imprisoned, even executed. But through it all they were powerful witnesses!

The Holy Spirit’s presence and power can be evidenced in a dynamic preacher who attracts great audiences. But it is seen as well in the volunteer who carries on a one-on-one prison ministry, in the person who witnesses to a co-worker or a neighbor, and in the Sunday school teacher who faithfully teaches week after week.

The power of Pentecost is not especially reserved for the highly gifted. Rather, it is available to all believers in Christ who want to serve Him.

God’s guidance and help that we need day to day
Are given to all who believe;
The Spirit has come and He is the source
Of power that we can receive. —Branon

The power of God’s Spirit gives power to our witness.

A Texan in Australia A Texan farmer goes to Australia for a vacation. There he meets an Aussie farmer and gets talking. The Aussie shows off his big wheat field and the Texan says, "Oh! We have wheat fields that are at least twice as large". Then they walk around the ranch a little, and the Aussie shows off his herd of cattle. The Texan immediately says, " We have longhorns that are at least twice as large as your cows". The conversation has, meanwhile, almost died when the Texan sees a herd of kangaroos hopping through the field. He asks, "And what are those"? The Aussie replies with an incredulous look, "Don't you have any grasshoppers in Texas"?

What is a grasshopper? An insect on a pogo stick!

What is green and can jump a mile in a minute? A grasshopper with hiccups!

Why is it better to be a grasshopper than a cricket? Because grasshoppers can play cricket but crickets can't play grasshopper!

One minister was teaching a fifth grade Sunday School class about the life of John. He told how John had lived in the wilderness with little or nothing to eat. He commented that John had eaten only honey and locusts. A little girl asked what locusts are. The minister said, "A locust is a grasshopper." The little girl said, "Oh, my grandmother drinks those."
