Happy 2000000!
I’m sorry you weren’t feeling better. I’ve a little of that, but it’s just a foot. Podiatrist says it’s early stages of a condition, easily treated and maybe a month from now all will be well.
Great!
I like the news about your plan to help your successor. That’s truly Good News!
[Ahjeez...The People’s Court is taping in Summerlin (NW Vegas) tonight. (Fools’ names and fools’ faces....)]
Evening, everyone! It’s raining here. My parents went home, my in-laws are here. I found a conch shell with a hermit crab this morning. I brought it up to the porch in a dish with some sand and water and let everyone see it, and then took it back to the water. Later I found a conch without a crab.
Tomorrow’s plans are on hold until we see the weather in the morning. If it’s going to rain all day, we’ll have to take the Offspring to the movies. Bill hopes to rent a kayak if the weather is nicer.
An element of retaining my new job as "corporate expert" is continually demonstrating its importance to this huge corporation.
So yesterday I get an e-mail from a product manager suggesting that I might want to look at a design spec for a new device from one of our overseas R&D groups. Took a look at it after lunch -- and in short order was writing my evaluation, gently suggesting that certain of their approaches would be massive disasters in actual installations, and offering alternative approaches that would work.
Chatted with him on my way out the door, and it looks like I was squarely on target. He'd sensed something was wrong and so he sent it to the expert for evaluation.
Some days, the dragon loses. *\;-)
So you were the knight in shining armor today?
I’ve yet to hear of a vacation where it doesn’t rain! LOL!
It sounds as though you have everything under control, even with bad weather!
How was your dad? Did he do OK?
My predecessors looked after me and all three of us are working to make things better for him and his successors. If their work is easier, the advancement of our standard is improved.
Blackened by fire. But it held.
Excellent!
Igor used to write programs for flight simulators, and other hi-tech, spendy electronics. Some of them are still orbiting.
So, good ON ya, sion! (I’m so proud!) *snif*
True! Pay it forward, “they” say.
Wish it would rain here. Poor LoM is in her allergy season too (usually precedes mine) and only rain is going to help. The showers forecast for today haven't come and the weather radar offers no hope.
You mean it’s *not* raining in Seattle?
Dad seemed fine, and he enjoyed playing with the children. Vlad really liked him! He sometimes asked questions we’d already answered, and he would forget which room was his, but no major problems, and he seemed about the same as the last couple of times I saw him.
Yup. The amusing part is that my successor (now vice-chair), his successor (now secretary), and the successor apparent (incoming secretary)... we all work for competing companies. But we're good friends and work well together.
Sadly yes. It's known to happen from time to time.
Q: What do you call a sunny day in Seattle?
A: Proof that rain is coming.
It seems like the new surroundings were kind to your dad. I’m glad he didn’t get too confused. I’m sure he enjoyed Vlad, too!
As long as your dad doesn’t get any worse, then his treatment shouldn’t have to be changed any time in the near future. And that’s good!
As long as you can all work together! (Don’t they call that a “brain trust?”)
Whoa! Not many people can stay friends with ex-co-workers.
My sister reports that her husband has been about the same for a while, though he's further down the road.
I hope they find a cure. I lost my step-father (all of us "kids" just loved him) to cancer -- this is worse.
I should probably get off here and head for bed. The barometer water is spilling out the spout, and that means I’m in for a long night.
