Really? I didn’t think anyone knew Gibberish, these days. It’s almost as rare to hear as Babble.

Ah, yes, but for really deep nonsense, nothing beats Jabberwocky!

Live in the southwest I though I would be come familar with the local 'authentic Western gibberish' as a tribute to Gabby Hayes

According to Larry Niven, it should be "Bandersnatchian".

Wow! "World of Ptavvs" was published in 1966!

"Bandersnatchi are enormous intelligent creatures, supposedly created as food animals, but were actually spies for their designers, the Tnuctipun, a highly intelligent slave species that led the revolt against the Thrintun. Only the Bandersnatchi survived the war, as they were specially designed to be immune to Thrintun mind control."

Y’know, when he had his teeth in, he was a pretty formidable character!

He spent his life with bit parts, but he’s GOT to be my all time favorite character actor!

By comparison to Gabby Johnson, in “Blazing Saddles”, George Hayes was a master of elocution.

“Blazing Saddles” is SO good! I’m not ashamed to say I love slapstick.

Sight gags are the epitome of humor.
But I may rue the day I ever said that. Maybe.

Hey, that was a great book.

A part of Niven’s “Known Space” made it into the Star Trek universe. The animated series had an episode called “Slaver Weapon” which was based entirely on Niven’s story, “Slaver Weapon”.

The slavers, of course, were the Thrintun from “World of Ptavvs”.

Well, if I knew where to get that, I’d read it.
Then you and I could share something besides *ahem* words.

I saw him in an old movie, and he had no chin feathers. I wouldn’t have recognized him, had it not been for his voice!

"Well, if I knew where to get that, I’d read it."

Some are listed here for less than a dollar.

But I know you know how to find a used book store.

I’ll do that!
But this is Las Vegas Valley. Used book stores are as rare as frog hair.
However, there is a place in Tucson called, “Bookman’s,” that has almost as good a stock as Amazon. They don’t have an online inventory, but if you tell them the title/author, they will send it to you.
I think Igor and I helped them to open their second store....

Morning, everyone! Mom will be arriving shortly, and we got a late start due to DST, so if you don’t hear from me later, assume everything is going well.

No matter what else happens, I’ll still be chortling inside over the Spitzer story :-).

Good Morning!! It is a good one isn’t it!! It’s always delicious to see a zealot get some comeuppance. Even better to watch the Dums twist in the breeze over it.
