Natalie’s question was certainly weird. I think she was trying to trip Parvati up and get her flustered.

And what was the deal with those black things Natalie was wearing on her forearms at the reunion show? Are those a new fashion accessory?

I think that survivor was very interesting this year. I have never quite seen anyone like Natalie. A true man hating B****.

I’m still shocked about her question to Parvati. If I would have been Parvati, I would have just said “None of your business.”

I fell asleep too. I guess those season enders are just too long for me.

I will miss your recaps Cuz. Thanks for keeping this going for us. I hope someone else will step in next season.

Did anyone else notice Parvarti’s “plumped up” lips? That poor girl has so much gum in the first place those fake fat lips do nothing for her. She must have to pick bugs out of her teeth.

Amanda really does need to cut back on the makeup. She is so pretty without it I hardly recognized her.

I thought either Amanda or Cirie would win. I was shocked and REALLY ANGRY when I woke up from my cat nap to find Parvati had taken the million. ARGGHH!!!

Something is not right about Natalie. She’s has some deep seated hatred for men that was ill conceived there towards the end.

Her comments about her multi-layered personality were weird. Was she trying to say she suffers from multiple personality disorder?

Thanks for volunteering.

Banned? What would you do to get banned?

Were not the purges of last year enough?

Anyway - on to the next chapter of Survivor.

Cuz,
THANK YOU so much for heading these Survivor threads for so long! I was a late comer, and hadn’t realized all the time you’ve put into them. You were great to do it - I always looked forward to reading your recaps!

As much as I disliked Parv., I was glad to see her win over Amanda. Out of the final 4, I was rooting for Cirie since I felt she was the real mastermind behind all the blindsides. I wish Survivor would cast more “mature” players for each season. Rupert, Yau, Rudy, Terry and Cirie have been some of my favorite players. Sure, Survivor is comprised of tough, physical challenges suited to buff, athletic younger types, but ultimately it is more of a thinking and social game.

I’m always sad to see a season end, but this year I was especially sad to know that I’d never see James again. He was without a doubt one of the most genuine, funny and straight-up contestants of the game ever! He really wasn’t much of a strategic player - he was too blunt and too honest to go to the end - and of course his mistake in China of not playing his 2 HIIs is still one of the stupidest blunders in Survivor history. Notwithstanding, James was endearing, hardworking, halarious and a genuine person. I’m thrilled he won $100,000 for player of the game both this season and last season. He actually did better financially then Amanda, I believe.

Looking forward to Gabon in the fall! I hope someone (em, em, Jill?) will pick up Cuz’s mantle so we can all enjoy another Survivor forum. Until then, see you all on the other FR boards!

Anyone else gone to CBS website to check out what happens after being put on the Jury?

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor16/video/ponderosa.php

If you have not seen any of them, start at the bottom of the 18 videos, oldest one is bottom right, and go left from there. You will have to endure an ad before each one, but I just muted until the video started. Very interesting things happened. I hope they do this again on the remaining shows.

Sorry to see you stepping down Cuz. Thanks for the posts, and I hope whoever does step in, continues with posting details beforehand in the same way, so as not to spoil it for those that don’t want to know until later. I don’t normally watch shows until the weekend, so it does help me alot.

This may be of interest to Survivor fans for the upcoming season.

Probst: Production problems on 'Survivor: Gabon'
June 5, 2008, 7:02 PM EST

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) -- Jeff Probst says the upcoming season of "Survivor" has already hit a few snags. "Survivor: Gabon — Earth's Last Eden" has been plagued with several preproduction problems, Probst told The Associated Press at a restaurant opening Wednesday.

The dilemmas for the 17th season of the CBS reality show, which begins filming in Africa later this month, range from encroaching animals to slow shipments.

"Our shipping has been really delayed," Probst said. "One aspect of 'Survivor' that is different from a lot of shows is that we have to ship throughout the season, and we're about 30 days behind now, which is a major problem. We're going to be fine on the show, but the crew housing is not there. We're going to be in tents."

Other than the habitation hindrance, Probst also said a crane had fallen over and a cargo hold containing about $100,000 worth of food had gone missing. The lumber used for building props and set pieces for challenges and Tribal Council, however, had safely arrived. Probst said the "Survivor" crew was also having an issue with something that was already present: wildlife.

"We have a danger problem with animals that we're trying to figure out how to handle," the "Survivor" host said. "There's so much truly wild life out there, we're not sure what to do. We don't want the animals around for a safety reasons, but we'd love to have a hippo sneak in every so often. I just got a call from our executive producer that we've got hippo tracks at base camp."

"Survivor: Gabon," which will feature 18 castaways living in the wilderness in the West African country, will be filmed in high-definition and is slated to premiere in the fall. It's the first time the competitive reality series has returned to Africa since its Kenya-set third season. Probst said he doesn't think the snafus will halt production.

"These things for us usually have a way of turning into good things," he said.

Does anyone have an interview with Jeff Probst or anyone where they say what would have happened if there had been a 4-4 tie at the final vote? They came very close to that. If just one of the five who voted for Parvati had switched their vote to Amanda, there would have been a tie.

I hope they would have resolved it somehow and not kept it a tie and had “co-winners.” That would have been even worse than the tie in baseball’s All-Star game.

Survivor: Gabon (Survivor 17) is scheduled to make its debut on Thursday, September 18 at 8(7 Central) on SeeBS, of course. It’s a little early for its own thread but just a heads up.

I just read an interview where Natalie said that she knew she was going to vote for Parvati, but she wanted Parvati to sweat a little to earn her vote, so Natalie asked that question to throw Parvati off a little and make her think on her feet.
