Do you define conservative as someone who only two years ago professed that he was pro-choice? Who only a month or so ago on a Sunday show said he was STILL for the "assault weapons ban"? Who raised 'fees' and coddled illegals in Massachusetts?
Who raised his hand for man-made global warming (then put it down and clapped for Fred)? Who pandered to Michigan with promises of billions in taxpayers' money?
How many actual conservatives by the accepted definition can you name who have been elected to a major office in the last fifty years in Massachusetts?
Mitt did not connect in South Carolina despite a great team and lots of time and money. Neither will he connect well with voters who respect Reagan's coalition in other states. It ain't over 'til it's over.

And to all you Fred Thompson supporters. Now is the time to face reality and support the remaining viable conservative candidate---Mitt Romney. Romney is now in the best positition to harvest a big delegate count on Super Tuesday because of his superior organization and finances. Ultimately, McCain will lose out to Mitt.
Not going to happen!
Mitt with his 50% negatives is not going to win the general. He might as well drop out and endorse an electable consistent conservative like Fred and become his VP.
Then he could prove all of his recent flip-flops are not flip-flops and be the next in line for POTUS.

PJ, to paraphrase Shakespeare, methinks the Lad rejoiceth too much. Is there not absolute truth? Is there not a time for mourning? Yes we must move forward; perhaps reflection is yet in order.

Some who are indeed Conservatives need to stay in the game and keep prayerfully slogging on and not be dismayed and sidelined.
Some who THINK they are Conservatives arent; the U.S. Constitution DEFINES Conservatism. To those I ask, please prayerfully rethink your positions.
Beyond that, there are many who are in America while America is not in them and they are definitely voting, early, often and Liberal. To Conservatives, I ask please prayerfully stand against these threats.

He's not a conservative. He thinks mandates from the government are the solution. That is not conservative thinking.
As to viable, he's a flipper. The Dems must be smart enough to know how to deal with a flipper. We showed them how the last time.
I will only quit when Fred quits and as other articles have asked why should he? If you've got the cash, keep promoting a clear conservative message.
So will I via Fred.

Although I believe that Thompson's positions are still the most conservative of the remaining candidates (that is, the positions that they state), followed by Romney, Huckabee, McCain, and Rudy (and I will not vote for Rudy in any case)...I have a sinking impression that Thompson is going to benefit his friend McCain in this.
He is drawing delegates and votes, and as long as he stays in, I will support him. But, I fear that if he drops out, that he will throw his support behind McCain.
I hope I am wrong...and I would really rather see Thompson as the ultimate candidate...but my gut tells me he is going to end up supporting McCain, which I will not do.
Duncan Hunter was my first choice, but he is gone now...followed by Thompson (enthusiastically), Romney (less enthusiastically), Huckabee and McCain thereafter (holding nose), and voting write-in or third party if its Rudy vs, Hillary...and as I have explained before this is because I personally will not put my name down in support of anyone who is an open supporter of abortion or homsexuality.
I guess we'll wait and see.

And to all you Fred Thompson supporters. Now is the time to face reality and support the remaining viable conservative candidate---Mitt Romney. Not quite yet, PJ. It may come to that, but not yet. If Fred stays in, I'm sticking with him and voting for him here in Missouri. I'm a FRederalist!

Check back with me when Fred actually bows out, if he does.

That would be awesome...except for one major flaw in your analysis. Mitt Romney is in no way, shape, or form a conservative. Not even a moderate. He is a flaming liberal. His record betrays his true nature.
