Yep...he was the man! I remember watching him strip a ball from a running back at the goal line to preserve a win...I think it may have been against the Giants in 1972 or 73...
A very, very cerebral linebacker.
I played linebacker in high school at the time and followed him as my model. On offense it was always “KA-Zoka” with Miami.
A good model to follow. I think it is pretty sad he has not made it into the Hall of Fame...a nine time pro bowler should be there.
And Coach Gibbs...a class act indeed.
I don’t know the nomination process but would be happy to help.
Joe also had to deal with his 3 year old grandson’s leukemia diagnosis this year. I understand the little boy is in remission, but that is an enormous blow to any family. Thankfully, medical science has come far in leukemia treatments, and I hope the lil fella beats it.
At the same time, Coach Bugle’s exquisitely beautiful daughter is fighting a rare form of cancer. It was a very tough year for the ‘Skins coaching staff. I pray for the full recovery of both, and nothing but the best for Joe Gibbs.
Guess we need to ask one of them
