Oh great. Now I've got elf butts with Tom written on them. My eyes!!
Never been to a Dragonflie's Lair. Hell, I didn't know how to spell it. LOL

Hey, there Sailor/Army all around good guy, welcome to the Lair. There that makes it easier.
How goes it?? Cold over there now?? Thanks for coming round. I wanted to give you a welcome to this thread, we have a lot of fun here, also.
Navy guys, please give a big welcome to tongue tied, he is serving in Afghanistan.

tongue tied
Welcome indeed, another military warped mind to enjoy.
(By the way, Irish single-malt helps with the elf-butt thing!)

Well thanks! Just waking up here, chilly but not cold. Like 30-ish, clear today, clouds tomorrow and they SAY sleet/rain/snow Sunday. I don’t believe them.
To: WayzataJOHNN
Single Malt?! Oh man, you are talking my launguage.
To: tongue-tied
Hope you got some good strong coffee to get yerself perking along.
The temp here is 7 degrees, with wind chill of 7, humidity 87%.
Take care now tongue tied. ;0)

Yes, I find after a long life getting into and even sometimes out of trouble, that a small flask of ‘single-malt’ in my hip pocket is a grand way to celebrate life and those times when life is a bit more interesting then usual.
Where are you from and where are you at, and most importantly, are you into any mischief???

As I remember it used to get cold in the mountain area of Iran and Afghanistan. I do not know if Ab-jo (beer) is readily available where you are. Us sailors (WayzataJOHNN myself and maybe tomkow6) always knew where to get sadiqi (booze). Hopefully you are in a safe zone, if there is such a thing. Welcome to this crazy family.

Just got home a few minutes ago. It is raining and the temps are around 52. But I have to look on the bright side, we do not have any snow.

More long, long days for you then I guess. Are you all well now or working yourself into another frenzy??
I am soon going hit the hay, the floors are cold even though the thermostat is set at 72. Dang cold out there.
well, don’t stay up all night gabbing away.. LOL

“Us sailors (WayzataJOHNN, myself, and maybe tomkow6) always knew where to get sadiqi (booze).
Yep, my shipmates showed me how to make booze if the neighborhood is lacking in the potables. On one of the ships I was on, one of the crew was arrested for using one of the ship’s three seawater distillers to make booze from mash brought out to the ship by a Chinese barge that was supposed to be receiving clean water. I LOVE the things a sailor gets into just being himself, (sniff) those old memories of a miss-spent youth.

“and the lessons learned.”
Learned? You mean I was supposed to learn something? Now you tell me, forty four years later! (mumble, groan) All that time wasted in the Navy, and all I did was drink, raise hell, and beat the odds to get home. Well, tongue-tied, learn from the experiences of guys like NYA and me, and try not to create an international incident, (or at least don’t let them know your name by losing the name tag off your uniform when you run au natural out of that foreign Ambassador wife’s rooms during some bigwig party!!!)

The more things that we did, the more we “Learned” to do then undetected. LOL. Now that incident in Paris, I cannot confirm or deny it. As the Chinese proverb goes “May you live in interesting times”. They certainly were!

I am from Buffalo NY (eons ago graduated HS there) and hanging out in Kabul for the next little bit helping the Afghans set up an air corps for their army. Good times!
Mischief? Naaa...can't even drink here nor get too friendly with the female. So far I've been good. But if the opportunity presented itself....
To: NY Attitude; tomkow6
Ha! Well, beer is all over here at the airport, but we (US) aren't allowed near it. Unless it is near beer. But we hear all of the other NATO folks singing and jamming their music, in their bars that they'v all built, no less.
Oh well. No, really. It is fine. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
yeah I know Tom, he's a fellow squid. Morning Thomas!
