I read back through the history of this series of postings, and really don't think there's anything deserving of the name-calling. I believe Straight Vermonter when says he didn't intend an insult, though it could be read that way and 'Face clearly did.

I don't know whether he knows 'Face or not, but he managed to pour fuel on the fire, most likely unintentionally.

'Face, please accept his apology and let's all stand back for a minute, review and reconsider.

Well, you'll need to get your lighter socket repaired/installed, then ...

... and then you can try something weird, per my suggestion. I noticed that a small electric blanket I recently purchased uses only 140 watts.

So I was thinking one could use a small inverter, about 300 to 350 watts, in the car, to power a blanket or throw-warmer. It's a bit oversized, so the idea may not be practical, but keep the idea in mind, and keep your eyes open.

Aren’t there some in the 175 watt range? 350 is a lot of overhead, not that the efficiency is likely to suffer much. But it’s more than you’d want to pull from a lighter socket.

Got a question... Have you seen this commercial? Do you recognize the song at all? Was it something they came up with, or should I recognize it from something more traditional?

I had not seen the commercial (I don't watch TV.) The tune, yes, it's familiar -- it's a snatch from something Celtic/Irish and I will guess in the 1980s, unless it's from an 80s/90s movie such as Rob Roy.

He came back today, obviously ready to fight, and I told him no one cared about whether George Carlin wrote that or not.

At this point, I don’t think YOU know me either, if you think I would get upset over something so trivial.
