Yah. OK. I thought all that stuff was built into our space suits? Like a re-breather with cooling/heating coils?

Well they do say it is hard working in a chain gang but that was not my experience. I actually liked being out of doors for a change and getting some fresh-air. And the work was not really as hard as they make it out to be in the movies. The warden ensured we got plenty of breaks and we spent most of the time sitting by the side of the road sipping bottled water, watching the cars whiz by.

Well, yes.
But sometimes more comfort for seating is requested.
So testing goes on to make it as comfortable as wished.
Sometims, the results are diasappointing, but amusing to use.
Like the ‘hot butt’ chair.

One of my favourite quotes, from the movie “Double Jeopardy”.
Paraphrasing........
The heroine:
“Jail, (laughs), oh, no. Not jail. I was in prison, big (laughs again) difference! “
Guy:
“Prison? What for? (laughs nervously)
Heroine: “Oh, I was convicted of killing my husband. (laughs) Sliced and diced, I think the papers said (gigggle)”
The guy gets this look on his face that seems to be related to what is happening in his pants.
It’s a priceless scene.

I don’t think I’ll live down the bubble volcano though.
That was embarrassing.

"I thought all that stuff was built into our space suits? Like a re-breather with cooling/heating coils?" That part was simple; just a matter of circulating water through hot or cold packs. What I'm trying to do now is to fine tune the response areas. It will be useful for making synthetic reality suits.
It means using thermoelectric materials, so that current in one direction produces heat, and reversing it produces cooling.
Once my technical upgrades are completed, you will be able to use your suit to simulate walking through a forest glen, or unintentionally stepping into a rivulet or stream.

It’s a link to HP Lovecraft.
If it’s a story about interplanetary aliens, I’ll read it this weekend.
Is it?

I think Clive Cussler has something like it for his NUMA crew. Check out NUMA.net.
