That happened on third down. Considering it was just a few inches short, I think LSU would have converted on fourth down. Apparently the Auburn coaching staff didn't think it was worth wasting a challenge to contest the ruling.
Tuberville is an idiot. Auburn had the momentun, had just scored a TD, taken the lead 24-23 - and they hand them field position with a little dinky squib kick-off. Kick the ball deep! Don’t hand it over to them needing only a FG close to midfield! Worst..... kick..... ever. I couldn’t believe it.
It was a ballsy call by LSU to throw that ball into the EZ - they only needed a FG. But the college kicking game can be a crapshoot.....oh well, they got lucky

It would of cost time however since the first down chains wouldn’t of been moved.
