Good afternoon Lady Jag. The poem says Spring Fever and that is cool.
This is a treasure!
My studio is hot as blazes with all its glass, so its a/c is on. But we have mid 70s and dry air and it is beautiful without the humidity, so what can I do but laugh and go.
How’s by you?
The poet speaks to our hearts and minds and brings us back to childhood in eight short lines. It’s pretty amazing.
Cool here today, 32F this morning at 5:00AM when I got up. Wind is pretty strong and chilly. The sun is out and has been all day, but remains on the cool side. The air is dry here, too.
Our temps are supposed to be up and down this week. Temps are going up tomorrow to mid 80s, back to mid 70s Wednesday and falling for a few days after. I haven’t looked to see where the weather is coming from, though.
;0)
I have a very BIG smile on my face.
Morning is a strange strange time
the too bright sun is just coming up
I know I need at least another cup
to even try to begin to craft a rhyme
Even if the day is crystal clear
in a mind padded fog I am you see
and caffeine makes the fog flee
so I hold my coffee cup most dear
Once I come awake I feel just grand
I smile and even say hello to all
and listen to a robin’s sweet call
welcoming the new day across this land
Your smile must be a beautiful thing considering your heartful posts.
Have I told you how much I love your posts?
You have made me smile many times, dear Lady J. Thank you.
Perhaps my humor can lift you. Your thoughts keep me anchored. Maybe we’re good for each other
Wonderful, I love it.
Indeed! I know you are good for me..
I love coffee..I NEED coffee..Thanks for the smile and the poem.
Did you have to leave the warmth of the manse today?
Good evening NYA, yes, I did have to leave the manse. It was not so bad, the wind remained cool, but it did warm up to 66F this afternoon.
So now the sun has set for another day, or at least in this neck of the woods. I have been looking for inspiration to write a poem, well is dry for a time. ;)
I guess I need to dream of far off and mysterious places, maybe that would trigger a poem.
Sometimes creativity runs in cycles. May you have sweet dreams of exotic and distant places.
Sung by Bing Crosby
I looked for the author of these lyrics, could not come up with it. ;(
Far away places with strange-soundin’ names
Far away over the sea
Those far away places with the strange-soundin’ names
Are callin’, callin’ me
Goin’ to China or maybe Siam
I want to see for myself
Those far away places I’ve been readin’ about
In a book that I took from the shelf
I start gettin’ restless whenever I hear
The whistle of a train
I pray for the day I can get underway
And look for those castles in Spain
They call me a dreamer, well maybe I am
But I know that I’m burnin’ to see
Those far away places with the strange-soundin’ names
Callin’, callin’ me
(I pray for the day when I’ll find a way
Those far away places to see)
Those far away places with the strange-soundin’ names
Callin’, callin’ me
Was it Jo Stafford that sang this?
