Reminds me of my '77 Monte Carlo. Big as a boat with fire engine red paint and white Landau roof and white imitation leather seats.

Oh the stories and times that I had in that car. I can remember getting on the highway and watching that four barrel carbuerator making the gas gauge move when those back two barrels kicked in.

Boston's music is full of longing and yet is inspirational. They are brilliant and he will be missed, but his works will ensure he is never forgotten.

Requiem aeternam.

Yeah:) I used to hear all the time that Scholz helped invent the Polaroid One Step camera. I always wondered if that was one of those urban myths. I do know, that, right after they released their "Don't Look Back" album, the band and CBS got into a nasty legal fight, resulting in Scholz holding back delivery for their third release.
And, it took several years before they resolved things, and to help pay his bills, Scholz founded a company to service musicians with tech gear. I still miss my old "RockMan". That was a "Walkman" sized guitar signal/fx unit. It was awesome for the time, came in handy at 4am, in the bedroom, while everyone was asleep, to lay down ideas on the old 4 track:)

Brad Delp would be worth millions if lead guitarist Tom Scholz had not refused to tour. Boston appeared very infrequently because Scholz "owned" the right to the name "Boston"

IIRC Scholz did the first Boston album (with More Than a Feeling) by himself in a home studio expect for the singing. Brad Delp did it

Don't Look Back!

They tried to to beat The Who in loudness. The Who were so loud my ass crawled down my leg and hid behind my boots.

Yeah, they were pretty loud in 79, lol. Although, a few months later, I went to my second rock concert, was Van Halen, right when "Dance The Night Way" was all over the radio. I was 14 and VH was so loud, my ears rang for days after, lol! I miss those days:)

I think it is Manfred Mann's Eath Band.

Mu parents listened to Strauss, Schubert, Mozart, Beethoven, etc.

...and Elvis.

I played the foregoing in symphony band.

The latter noises of that band made sounds akin to "woe be us", and various other squeeks. If what you say is true, I am very sorrowful for you.

Sorry, I meant "Manfred Man's Earth Band"

Boston didn't sing the song he was refering to.

I loved that song too. That's the song I bought the album for - and then I found I loved the rest of the songs on it. Just one song I wasn't fond of, but all there others were hits too. Most albums have one or two good songs and the rest "so-so", but the first Boston Album was full of excellent music from beginning to end. I had it first on 8 track, then on cassette, now on cd. I haven't progressed beyond that yet! :-)

IIRC Boston's debut album was the best selling album of all time. I remember hearing "Foreplay/Longtime" on my car radio and it just blew me away with the organ and guitar sound. I went out the next day and bought the album. I listened to the whole album and could not believe that every song on it was great. I re-call reading the back of album cover and they wrote 'just listen to the music' about 3 times. I still have that same album and listen to it from time to time.
