Do the name plates on these rides mean anything? Only from the standpoint of a general body style, but even that is much the same, as you can see on the highway today.
Other than the first decade of stock car racing, before it became televised and a accepted sport, there has been little that is stock. There are differences, but they have nothing to do with branding. The car MFGR's are just like any other sponsor in most ways. But they do provide testing and engineering to the teams that is very valuable.
But no, there really is no relationship to the brand, other than body appearance and style, and the help the MFGR provides. The rest of the car is NASCAR approved specialty after market racing parts and whatever engineering differences the various teams provide, as far as engine design, suspension tweaks and aerodynamic engineering.
