Ashley had her hotrod sideways a while ago, but pulled it back.

Let it be known that a "hotrod" is defined (at least on this Nascar thread) as a car that weighs 3400 lbs, has around 850 hp, and does high speed left hand turns.

On occasion, they do right hand turns as well, but we try to limit that, for obvious reasons - mainly because the driver gets confused.

What you are talking about would better be defined as a "Rocket" - massive amounts of acceleration forces applied in a one dimensional vector - straight ahead. DO NOT turn left or right.

I fully realize I am picking at nits here, but I feel we have to keep the terminology straight.....

"Hotrods" - go fast in a circle, 98% of the time to the left.

"Rockets" - go real fast in a straight line.

I'll say this about the NHRA......

I wait for the day when I have to leave my 'watching a Nascar event' seat to go get a cold beer, and stand at the fence, looking directly down at the start line of the "strip". Ya never know, this is 'Vegas, baby'..... The best one so far has been watching: 1) Busch qualifying, 2) Cup qualifying, then having to walk (you'd think they would in a moving walkway, something, damn!) about a 1/2 mile to watch the World of Outlaws race.

As we were walking by the silent drag strip, I could not help but think, "everybody else is here tonight, why not the dragsters?"

I know how that works! That's why i am at Grammy's this weekend! My mom and dad had separate computers with a third and fourth setup for kids. I am at my dads rig now. DirectTV bigscreen right over the 19" monitor. Still need my frickin glasses, though, it's all less than 3' away.
