Ah - well at least it was intentional... it sounded like it might not have been a swim you meant to take :~)

Well, when we rode down into the water, Shirley acted like he was going to drag me off my horse, but the water looked so nice and clear that I just decided at the spur of the moment that I was having a swim. He said that if he'd known that he would've went ahead and drug me off. I told him that was ok, but he would've gone in with me! It was about 3 feet deep right next to the bridge abutment so I could just squat and the water was up to my chin. It felt pretty darned good! And I was nice and cool on the ride back too. My feet were kinda squishy, but they even felt good. It was HOT!

BladeRider and Blade. (You coulda smiled a little bit girl!)I was concentrating! You do have another with me smiling!
To: FrogInABlender
I’d have swam with ya. I don’t like to be hot.
To: BladeRider
Yeah, but it's not as good a picture of Blade, and we all know that it's more important for the horse to look good than the rider. ;o)

I think its great that you have the opportunity to ride pretty great horses.
It IS a wonderful opportunity, one that I've never had before. (And very grateful for) I've decided this year to do clinics instead of shows so that when I do go into the show ring again, I can beat those people with style! :-) The June clinic was a spring board- I've made great progress since then because it has been a great motivator. Am I fabulous? No not at all, but the progress that I have made has been done in a very short time. Next year they better watch out because I DO intend to compete against them and pass them. I have to out of principle! ;-)

I have to agree with Blade Rider. Trail riding is serious business! ;-)

I have to agree with Blade Rider. Trail riding is serious business! ;-)Especially when your horse has lost a shoe and you are concentrating on staying off the rocks!

At least you had that Easyboot. That was a real ride-saver! I was surprised that it stayed on like it did, especially since it was the old style with no gator. I could never get one to stay on when I tried to use them on Tennessee.

I could never get one to stay on when I tried to use them on Tennessee. You should have seen me trying to get it OFF when I got home! I went in the house to get a screwdriver and Gary asked what I needed that for. I said "to take my horse apart". He did not know at that point that we had lost a shoe. I was thinking about getting some of those for Queen so when/if anyone wants to ride her I won't have to have her shod just for one ride.

I already said my piece on that thread! I picture getting a foot caught in it, and the horse not liking how it tightens... a bad scene... all the way around :~)

Hey, I restrained myself - I didn’t say a thing about the flip flops. Nobody gets in our barn yard with them on :) I’ve seen someone step on a nail with them and ER had to remove the foam from the nail hole, nasty and painful.

To: HairOfTheDog
LOL - just about anything would be more relaxing - note to self, don’t read the threads over there when school is out.

Let me think of a post to write over there...
“Say everyone... I’m thinking about tying sparklers on my horse and riding bareback in sandals for the parade on Wed ... what do you think?”
To: HairOfTheDog
LOL - they will think it's a great idea, 'course by now they ought to know your horse is Bay and he might not think it was so great.
You know, as a kid I did a lot of dangerous stuff on horses - my dad was teaching me to be a trick rider when I was 10yrs old. But safety was always foremost, for me and for the horse. I just can't understand why they don't want to do things as safely as possible. That doesn't prevent accidents or injuries but it sure lessens them.
