We came to that conclusion a few weeks ago. Him being a stud for so long, probably doesn't help either. I would not feel safe getting on him now, after the rodeo I saw. Poor Tammy had just got on and was not even settled in yet.
I think Bodie's problem is someone needs to hang a spur in him.
Good morning afternoon, and evening:) great pictures, looks like you had fun.
Bodie just needs miles and handling. I bet he’ll make a great horse:)
Becky
I’m still downtown.
It just finished raining a bit, and the gutters were full, so o the kids are out playing in it. Funny, how when one kid finally does what they all want you have a whole crowd:) Of coures we are lucky in that we have a building and dry clothes to change too...pictures later.
Becky
Hi! :~)
We’ve been doing major organizing today... cleaning up the FRAP that has taken over all the cabinets and bookshelves and drawers so we can de-clutter and clean this house. Needs to be done anyway, but his folks coming is a good reason to do it now. Dare to dump it, has been the motto. Got a lot of junk thrown out, and a big box of miscellaneous frap for Goodwill.
Gotta go up to the beach house and borrow the carpet shampooer.
Sounds like there’s a big party next door across the back. They often have a lot of fireworks. The big stuff. Got the horses closed in the paddock, gave them some Quietex... got the dogs zonked out, we hope... Just getting dark now, we’ll see if the show is on...
Still cloudy and drizzlely here.
Maybe your neighbors are getting their fireworks done now, and on the 4th it will be quiet:)
Another Green Corn Festival has come and gone. It was a bit of a bomb because of the weather. The street dance didn't happen...they move it to the community center, we never went over there. Here's a few pictures.
The corn cooking..mmmmmmmmmmmmmm:)
The turtle races. We had one in the finals:). The had 10 heats with 15 turtles in each heat, then the finals.
Jenny and the kids walked in the parade, advertising her shop:). The parade wasn't much, no horses, no marching band. Just cars, tractors, and a few walkers.
Yesterday evening it rained hard and heavy one time enough to fill the street, Bixby has a terrible drainage problem. The kids, big and little:), got out in front of our building and played in it before it drained away.
And then a beautiful rainbow came out and cheered everyone up:)

Slept in this morning. Tired from riding and all the drama.
Becky, oh too bad about all the rain for the festival. I hope everyone had a good time and it didn't put too much of a damper on things. Cute turtle races!
Around here people have been shooting off fireworks also.
Kids went to a horse show, so I will be heading there soon. Alison is pretty high in points for year-end awards. They don't want to miss any shows now.
Yes, Tammy was taking his bridle off. He was on the other side of my trailer and couldn't see the other horses and that sets him off into a panic.
I am glad you ignored that nasty woman's comments. People like that make me sick. Just keep smiling, that gets to them!
What a beautiful rainbow. When it was raining the other day, the sun came out. No rainbow that I could find.
Congratulations on making it to the finals.
Going out to breakfast this morning with step-son, DIL and grandson. Beautiful day here.
I have no such hope... They played with fireworks a little, but they were holding back. There will be more ;~\
The drugs we gave the dogs are really hard on Gidget... she's really hung over today ;~\ Both dogs, it looks like their eyes are sunk in their head. I don't like that, but I like the alternative less.
Sorry your festival was a flop with the rain... it looks like some made the best of the rain! Congratulations on your turtle!
Jessie should be by to pick up the monster today.
Thanks, the rainbow was nice.
Well, sorry about the neighbors and fireworks...
The turtle was turned loose as a reward, which I’m sure he/they were happy about:). I’m glad they are gone, I was tired of dealing with them in the crate.
The festival wasn’t all that bad...we did have some fun, and saw some of our friends we only see during the festival.
Will parting with the monster be hard, or a relief? I feel a bit sorry for the little guy, it seems he’s been shuffled around a lot for such a youngster...do you think he will be confused on who he belongs too and where home really is?
Becky
The pup’s pretty easy going, I don’t think he’ll be a problem going home, he’d go home with anyone. I don’t think he’ll mourn us, as long as someone’s paying attention to him. :~)
He’s been pretty easy to have here, but we won’t mind sending him home. :~) It’s lots of puppy location management for us, and his big playpen is in the way of our house cleaning! :~)
Beautiful day here also.
So when he got loose, did he at least run ~toward~ all of you, and not away? I always worry about horses getting loose at the trailhead. I've seen it happen to others, never mine, knock on wood. :~0
Knowing what you've said of him being herdbound though, I'd have set him up for success by having him on the same side of the trailer as the others... less stress for everyone, keep the level of adrenaline down. It could be some of the pent up stress added to him pitching a fit saddling? I dunno. That part is worrisome, even if there was a bee... maybe he's still at the stage where he should be lunged a few minutes first before riding... just to get his mind right.
Honestly, MT... It sounds like if Bodie had a good tuneup, either by you and the girls riding him fairly frequently, or even a week or month back at the trainers, that he's got the makings of a good trail horse... The bucking fit and the reluctance to go in the trailer are stressful, but solvable. I don't know if he's the right horse for you, I do understand that for the frequency of riding you do, you may really be better fit with someone like Cyn, who can sit all winter and be just fine with ecurbh... We do warm her up a little, though, by lunging her the first few times after a long time off, just to make sure. Bay too.
We wanted it out of the house. There were no fish in it... just a few surviving snails. It's been sitting like unkempt in a corner for months... just looking neglected. I'm no longer in the mood to keep it up inside with tropical fish... So we wanted it out. On a whim, I decided to put it outside. I flushed it out good, and put it by the fern bed. I wondered if frogs would like it.
So here's what I'm debating... Should we go to a pond and find tadpoles, maybe it would be fun to have tapoles in there?
Or should we go get a couple goldfish? Would that be cool, at least for summer, then we'd have to move them back in again... ;~\
Or should I empty it back out and get rid of it? What is a tacky gardener to do?
What am I, a teenage valley girl?
