Most of the people at my barn go to that show....in fact a lot went yesterday. I went once to see some of the boarders
compete. It is a lovely facility.
Got my house on the market on Thursday and crossing my fingers that it sells in a timely fashion. The market is so awful that I have my doubts.
Our house in Aiken will be done in September and of course I’m getting a bit nervous.
Cross your fingers for me.
Still treating it. He’s not gimping on it anymore, but it still looks pretty nasty.

Oh - that’s too bad. Show us some current pics and tell us what you’re doing for it. I always want to know what to expect if someone gets cut.
Thanks for the info. I think between me and the kids we’ll be ordering plenty.
At the time she was reading the 3rd one she thought she was out of order, but she was too far into it to stop:). She really liked them.

I’ll answer your question about Rock’s leg while I’m waiting on your pictures to load:)...I switched just today to Wonder Dust. Celia told me it was good to use if proud flesh was developing, and I’m pretty sure it is. It is starting to look bumpy. I’m giving it the rest of this week and if it doesn’t improve I’ll take him to the vet. I think cuts on lower legs are just hard to heal, especially given all the wet we are having.
Becky
Well your pictures are taking awhile to load, so I’ll leave it loading and look tomorrow.
Our weather is suppose to finally dry up a bit. I’m riding tomorrow. Julia called and wanted to come, but didn’t think she could get her trailer out, too muddy.
Anyway, see you all in the morning.
Becky
Oh - sorry for so many pictures :~\
Very bittersweet weekend. Deuce was wonderful at the show. He showed twice, very late in the evening in spooky conditions under the lights. Judge very hard on him, using him 5th and then 2nd but we were thrilled. We’ll show again in August.
We lost Whitey last night at age 19. Vet xrayed him and found laminitis in both front feet, one pretty advanced. Apparently the dear heart had quite a high pain tolerance as he didn’t show signs of lameness until things were quite bad. He was such a kind and giving soul and will be missed every day.
Oh dear. I am so very sorry (((((cj)))))
Thank you. He’s been so good to mom and I that we owed it to him to end his pain quickly. His condition deteriorated at a quick pace during this last week and he wouldn’t have even been able to go out and graze with any decent level of comfort.
Whitey and my old horse Hapi were great buddies and I like to think Hapi was there to greet him when he crossed the bridge.
Oh, I did not mean that as a complaint about too many pictures. I just did not want you to think I was not taking the time to look at them. I enjoy all the pictures posted here:). Some days it takes a long time for them to load, and yesterday was one of them, and I was tired.
Your pictures were great. I noticed in the one of Bay and Cyn standing together, that you still had hold of the rein. Good horse that he did not come towards you:)
Becky
So very sorry for your loss.
Becky
Aw cj, I’m so sorry! I just went and looked at his picture on your profile page and he sure was a hansome boy. It sure is hard to let our old boys go, but we’ve got to do what’s best for them. You’ll always have him in your heart though, and I’m sure he an Hapi are kicking up their heels like colts right now.
In other news, we're FINALLY getting a little rain today! WOO HOO!! It's supposed to rain off and on all day today, which will help the grass and the crops a little bit, but then it'll be over with for the forseeable future. But hey, we'll take every little drop we can get.
Oh, you were talking about “the falls”, I’m assuming there’s a waterfall there somewhere. Do you have any pictures of the falls themselves? Can you actually ride up to them, or do you have to get off and walk at some point to see them?
Oh CJ, so sorry to hear about Whitey. My sympathies to you and your mom. That is good Deuce was in the ribbons. Congrats.
Hair, nice riding pictures. So glad you guys got to go.
Estrogen, I was up your way again yesterday. Do you board at Chagrin Valley Farms? We went past it going to the Scheiders. That barn is beautiful also.
I picked out a bunch of stuff at the tack shop and my daughter brought it home last night. She gets a big discount. The mark-up on that stuff is terrible. I got trailer ties, brushes, fly spray, saddle blanket, bucket and a hat.
Storms are predicted today and it is raining. First time in a few weeks, so we needed it. Temps have been way too hot for June.
NO WAY! You are not suppose to get sore with those gaiters! lol
It is my back that hurts after riding. A few hours is about all I can take.
Check the manufacture on those flea meds. My vet told me to watch who you buy from, as some of that stuff is made overseas and packaged to look like the real thing. The product I get from 1800petmeds was made in America.
I’ll have to check that out. It sure LOOKS like the same stuff. The boxes are usually just a little mussed up so that’s what I was assuming was the reason she was able to get them cheaper. I also wondered if maybe they were close to expiration. I know the vet supply catalogs will put horse wormer on sale when it gets close to expiring. But I don’t order any more than I’m going to use in a season. The person who recommended ordering from this lady to me has been using it on her show dogs for years and hasn’t had any problems, and I used it all last year and it worked fine, but you can never be too careful.
They aren't ~big~ falls, here they are :~)
Thanks for the kind words. I’m worried about my mom as this is hitting her pretty hard. Time and knowing we did the best thing for Whitey helps.
MissT - is your Alison pictured in the last Schnieders catalog riding a chestnut with a big white blaze? I was looking through the catalog last night because we were so distracted we left some stable supplies at the show and when we went back to get them someone had taken them, and I noticed the pic. You mentioned family worked for Schnieders. The little girl in the pic is darling.
