They are a pony sized draft breed, always Palomino.
Yeah, I’ll bet that’s what they were. We don’t see them much around here. Mostly we have Belgians and a few Percherons and the mule crosses out of those.
Anyone growing tomatoes?
Anyone growing tomatoes?
Good morning. Growing tons of tomatoes, hope to supply the family and can a bunch this year.
As for how everybody knew . . . it was all over the radio and TV and they told everyone to get off the freeway. With the broken leg and possibly impaired circulation, speed was paramount. And they did successfully fix that . . . it was the laminitis that killed him.
Laminitis is the killer of every sort of horse, not just the high end racehorses. ANY insight that was gained through Barbaro's treatment, though ultimately unsuccessful, will help thousands of horses. If nobody tried to treat the marginal cases, medical knowledge would never progress.
Great. Got a question. My pot tomatoes are turning red. They are only about 1/4 size though. Is that it? Do I need to pick them or will they continue to grow?
If they are red, they are ripe and not going to get any larger. You could have cherry ones growing. Normally, pot tomatos will not grow very big. Yummy! fresh home grown tomatos!
Hey. I was just talking with someone else and she said you have to clip the “suckers” or the plant wastes energy growing leaves instead of fruit. Ever heard of that?
She is pretty as a picture, as always!
AWWW:’)
I do prune the suckers off my tomatos... the little branches that come up in the ‘armpit’ of the first branch. Those suckers will also bear fruit, so I don’t think they are only a waste, I do it to thin them out so they still get sun or they get too bushy.
Well I have enough for BLTs tonight. I’m going to trim 2 and see what happens.
Well, unintentionally, I’ve answered my earlier questions about whether Bay really needs the Isoxuprine he’s been getting. We ran out. I tried to stretch it out by giving him about half dose the last week, but we’re now out and the new bottles haven’t arrived, and Bay is mopey and slow, and is ‘toe-pointing’ at rest, like he does when his feet hurt.
So, I think I found my answer.... he does need it. It’s coming, I’ll not try to take him off of it again.
At least you know now, that it does help.
Yeah - it is good to know.
Well it is a good thing to know definitively. That is something I’d want to know.
Harley is undergoing a little test right now. I’ve saddled him and he is standing tied. If he stands there quietly for 5 minutes, I’ll unsaddle and turn him back out. This is suppose to be his day off, but after yesterday, I wanted to see what he would do.
So far so good...3 minutes gone:), he hasn’t moved a muscle.
Becky
BLT’s, fresh tomato’s.......mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm:)
Becky
Let me know if he passes the test :~)
