Well, Bob's an old hand at horses so that should be no problem, especially with other seasoned trail horses around for him to follow. You and Bay will be leading the way won't you?
He wants me to lead the first time out, yeah... So me’n ecurbh will lead ‘em both... Kat and Barney.
Cool! I think we have a vet in the next county who's like that, but I've never had to use him. My vet is about 5 miles from my barn, so he's pretty convenient.
Well, I think for most business, it works better for him to travel to the customer, and it’s probably very good for his profit margin to not have to maintain the overhead of keeping his own clinic and surgery.
He only does horses.
It’s good to have a good lead horse to follow. All my bunch are so used to following that it’s really had to get them to go first. When I force them too, they see boogers behind every bush. It’s been getting better with Bob and Grace since I’ve been riding them by themselves a few afternoons a week at home. But Bob can still put a dodge on me at times that makes it a real challenge to stay on. When I rode him on Monday afternoon, just as we were racking on down the road past the hog pen, one of the hogs pops his head up out of the bushes right by the fence and goes “GRRUMMMPH!” and I swear Bob left 5 foot skid marks on the pavement, even with borium on his shoes. Then he does his best to turn tail and run. I got him stopped in the neighbor’s yard and then he just stood there trembling, like “ohmygawdwhatwasthat?!”, but he went on past with a little prodding so that was good. Hopefully he’ll be pig-proof in another few days. Grace is the same way. I need to take them both over there and just ride them up and down the fence until they quit having conniption fits. I don’t know what it is about pigs that they find so unnerving. They don’t get that bent out of shape about dogs, and they’re about the same size and and a whole lot more noisy.
That's good. You would think a vet like that would be a whole lot more "up" on horse treatment options that just a regular vet who sees everything.
Pigs are scary... I remember when Bob got pigs, back when he had Bay... I thought I was going to have to pull Bay back down from orbit.
Frog, Bob’s leg looks great after such a horrendous injury. I’ve been keeping grandbabies today, so I haven’t had a chance to look at Rocky’s again. Will do it later this evening when it’s cooled down some...The heat of summer has finally hit, and it’s very humid.

Both of mine have the same first name. They wait for the 2nd to see which one I’m talking to:’)
Just thought I’d drop in and let you all know it’s snowing here. Good ole’ Nevada weather for you.
Nooo. You are joking, right?
PICTURES!
Are you kidding???
Becky
I was wondering where you’d been all day. I just figured you must be out on a good long ride. It’s supposed to get really hot and humid here by the weekend too. Saturday is supposed to be 95* with heat indexes in the 100’s. Whew, it’s gonna be hot!
Momma feeding.

They’re neat. I’d like to have a nest I can watch like that :~) And barn swallows are so pretty. They look about grown up!
I think they are about 10-14 days old. It’s just been in the last few days that they really started sticking their heads out like that. They sure make a lot of noise when mom and dad bring something in to for them:)
Now I just have to keep and eagle eye on Bink. Last year he got every baby that a pair hatched, just made me sick. I’ve known him to usually get one, but not all of them.
Do you know how long the babies will stay in the nest before starting to fly? I need to find out so’s I can keep Bink in, especially when I’m not home.
Becky
No joke but no pictures either. Snow stopped, just a few spits and then quit but it’s still cold.
I don’t know... but I bet you could find it on Google. How does Bink get them, aren’t they way up in the ceiling?
